I have a killer one right now. I was prescribed Topamax to prevent these but I don't take it like I should. I am not asking you guys what I should take but rather what you take for your own headaches? I used to love BC powders but for the past two years I have tried to avoid caffeine so I avoid BCs. I take Aleve for mine and it's the only thing that seems to even come as close to working as BCs did. Tylenol and Advil do nothing for me. What do you take?
Only in extreme circumstances do I take any drug, but when I have a splitting headache, three tylenol always work for me. Perhaps you might want to take 4 and see if that works. My aunt has done that for years under the same reasoning you just gave.
BC is great. I usually take Tylenol Fast Acting release gels though. Regular Tylenol does nothing for me. If it's really bad I take an advil, an aleve, and a tylenol. That completely knocks it out. According to my doctor it's not a good habit to have so I only do it when I have really, really bad headaches.
Not to mention, alcohol can also do wonders... And finals: why am I not in your top 8 yet? I swear I will ban you so fast... (kidding) Hope you and D are doing well. He has my son's name, you know, so he has to be a bad-ass.
HeadOn. Apply directly to the forehead. HeadOn. Apply directly to the forehead. HeadOn. Apply directly to the forehead. HeadOn. Apply directly to the forehead.
As odd as it may be, I do not get headaches anymore. Does anyone else find themselves without headaches?
If I don't have anything stronger, I take 3 or 4 Advils, or the equivilant. If that doesn't work, bang your head against a wall. Several times. After awhile, you won't notice the headache... the pain will obscure it.
I get horrible migranes once in awhile that so bad I feel like throwing up. I usually rub vicks on my forhead and neck and it relieves it big time. It is amazing how fast it works too. Now I always just put vicks instead of taking medication.
i actually like HEADon! you can use it in conjunction with other meds, and it provides a nice distracting cooling sensation. I use it with excedrin or like 4 motrins when i have bad headaches. another thing i like to do is press on certain pressure points, either at the base of the skull/nape of the neck, up underneath the brow bone, or between thumb and first finger. These seem to constrict the blood vessel or something... im not sure, just something my mother used to do for me.
I usually use generic asprin. But when I have a REALLY bad headache or a migraine I take a prescription drug called Anaprox. That always works. BTW, Imitrex suck donkey scrotum, it never worked for me (not even a little) and you're not supposed to take anything else for 24 hours. Agony.
I take my wife to the closet and lock her in there for a few days. That gets rid of my headache really quickly...
Same here, I havent had a headache is a few years. Prob. something to do with me deleting sugar from my food.
I used to get really bad headaches on a fairly regular (once a week or two) basis, but for about 10 years now, it's rare that it happens. Usually it's just that I haven't slept enough, or I wake up with a headache (because I didn't wake up at a good time). One other interesting note, Motrin always does it for me with hangovers too -- I take one and drink a glass of water before passing out/sleeping, then take two more the next time I wake up. BTW, HeadOn looks like it's a sham, apparently.
