The game is set to start soon....and I am lucky to enough watch it here...Will bring some update as things go. Btw, the match preceding this one was Slovenia versus Senegal (Slovenia won by 20)......Nachar did okay..seems to have become bigger but slower..scored like 19 / 20.... Badaine showed some hussle but enjoyed hanging out at the 3 point line rather than play close to basket....so forget about him for a couple years at least
Italy's front line looks weak, Yao got 8 pts in the first quarter. Wang Zhizhi doing good in 2st quarter
Naaaaaah, it was Wnag Zhizhi missing out on his target that caused 3 consecutive 3-pointers in the beginning that China now behind by 7 points.... 27 ~ 20. Time out.
China must do something about containing the Italian out from the arc. The Italians must have shot at least 5 to 6 pointers now in 2Q
39 ~ 35......4 points behind by 1H. Zhu Fangyu is slow in guarding his target, and let in another 3 pointer by the Italian....and Wnag Zhizhi missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Yi held his own in front of his Italian opponents, including Basille (??). He must have 3 blocks delivered so far, and snatched a few rebounds already. But that turnover (travelling ??) was due to his team mates not close enough for his pass, and his inexperience and carelessness that he travelled.
The 17 years old kid (Chen) is more of a combo guard leaning more torwards the SG side, China is still desparately needing a decent PG.
Yao Ming is just unstoppable in 3Q. Must have scored on every of his offense so far...... 5 baskets, including 2 dunks, 1 fade-away jumper, and another 3-point play. 50 ~ 50 tie game.
I have a feel that the 3s are just too cheap in the international games. The NBA 3pts arch seems more reasonable.
YUP.....the Italians must have scored at least 7 to 8 3-pointers just in 3Q. Yao Ming missed a dunk at the buzzer (probably due to a push at the back).... China behind by 11, 67 vs 56 by end of 3Q. Hope they keep on fighting and not easily give up in 4Q. They need to do something quick re guarding the Italians on the 3-pointer.
