Should have traded him to the Giants for the recently DFA-ed Jose Vizcaino. Viz seemed so unhappy there in the few comments of his I read. Plus, from a defensive standpoint, I really don't like that Chris Burke is our backup shortstop. The roster spot dilemma would still remain, but he was a high energy guy, a great guy to have in the club house and defensively played well at all the infield positions if I recall correctly. But then again, Bruntlett should be back up soon. Regardless, it would have been nice to have Viz back.

Preston Wilson signed with the Cardinals today.

I'm not happy about this. I liked Wilson and I sure hope he doesn't find his swing now that he's with St. Louis.

Well, this is certainly the worst case scenario. I'd at least have taken a single A scrub from a non-contending team first. There was no sense in being picky.

Hopefully, this won't come back to bite us in the ass.

It's ridiculous that Orlando Palmeiro still has a spot on this team and Preston Wilson doesn't. And it all comes down to money.

Wow, he could easily be this year's version of Reggie Sanders if he heats up down the stretch.

OMG...can this season get any worse?

I can't believe the astros just let him walk like that without trading him to a noncontender or to the AL....

    thats really pathetic!

You know hes got revenge on his mind when we play him later this year

    I liked Preston...but he's a Cardinal now.

Hope he has 150 abs the rest of the year. All strikeouts. (o.k mix in the occasional double play)

BTW this post is pure racism...I hate Baseball players in Red

    This definitely stings.

I thought Wilson would've been a pretty good pinch hitter off the bench. I don't think we should've dumped Palmeiro though...he's pretty much guaranteed contact at the plate. Lane should've been the one to go.

I'm a tad scared about those 7 games we've got left with the cards now. On a side note, why would a non-contending team want him? Most of them just try out their young guys to see what they've got in house, and I doubt anyone would have picked up his 3 year option. Not as if he fills seats. All of baseball new our sitiuation and most people had very mild interest in him, it would have been nearly impossible to make a trade IMO. Maybe the mets would have given us the crappiest single-a prospect they have for wilson, cash to cover most of his contract, and a mike jones mix tape. But that would have been almost as bad as him going to the cardinals.

That mix tape is worth a lot.

If he didn't, someone else would. Lidge isn't picky about who he gives up walk-offs to anymore.

You seem to forget one very pertinent fact: he still sucks.

You know, I was wondering why my @ss hurt today. Sure, I drank heavily last night, but I hadn't thought that my wife was into that sort of thing. Until this morning...

Thank goodness, now I know why it hurts! I can put my other concerns to rest.

(this sucks - he's reggie sanders with slightly less bat speed). it could hurt us, for sure.

He's Reggie Sanders if Reggie morphed from a 25 HR hitter into one that's had five in the last four months.

    Preston Wilson is garbage.

overreact much? Preston Wilson is the least of our worries on the Cards. the guy was a scrub on this team and now you guys act like he's all of a sudden turned it around. the way i see, he's the Card's problem, not the Astros.
