I have noticed that in the local newspaper, The Houston Chronicle, there is a section below the very front page that says what stories people have read the most online. I checked back a couple of days and have found out that, interestingly enough, stories I have seen here on CLUTCHFANS.NET's forum are ones appearing on that little section on the bottom of the front page.

I am persuaded now to conduct a little experiment, with your help. Right now, the story that has gotten more views (not replies, mind you) on the CF.net forum is the story about the Mexican fishermen. This story is also on chron.com (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/world/4120162.html). WHat would happen if, just because CF.NET users visit it MANY times, it comes out tomorrow on the front page?

I always wanted to do this experiment. If you think about it: you've seen a story here on cf.net, and then send it to your friends. They in turn send it to more friends, and all of a sudden it is a very widely-known story.

    www.clutchfans.net rules, freakers.

    EDIT: yesterday's article.
    Ready?

    EDIT: Today's article.
Let's try (TODAY 8/17/2006) this story

That's a really really interesting article in it's own right. Makes me want to go sailing. ;)

:( That's true. Perhaps I should try the same experiment but with a WAY, WAY hidden article?

We all know you only want to do it with this one because it's about a Mexican. ;)

I think you meant to say it was about a MEXICAN.

Well, what do you know... one of the top READ stories in the Chron.com site WAS the one about the Mexican fishermen I included in the opening post. :D

Shall I try this again with an obscure article this time?

Thanks. See the opening post for TODAY'S ARTICLE (that will hopefully appear TOMORROW on the Chronicle's main page).
