Maurice Taylor is possibly goin to sign a contract around 6 year at about 40 million.
    Moochie will sign a 2 or 3 year contract a maybe 3.25 a year.
But knowing Feagen, he will make it impossible for us to sign both so how about this since Cuban wants Shandon, Orlando is still looking for a pg after that 4-way deal brokedown, we are looking for a combo gaurd who doesn't require much playing time for right now and an energy player

Dallas trades: Howard Eisley $4,781,250 to Orlando
Dallas trades: Cash Considerations of $2,000,000 to Orlando
    TOTAL: $4,781,250

Houston trades: Shandon Anderson $3,670,450 to (BYC Value $1,835,225)
    TOTAL: $3,670,450

Orlando trades: Jeryl Sasser $751,500 to
Orlando trades: Bo Outlaw $6,000,000 to (plus Trade Kicker $1,012,500)
    TOTAL: $6,751,500

    Real GM :D

The Rockets have expressed interest in Bo, the energy player we need in the frontcourt, can take care of the rebounding while Eddie grooms.

Jeryl Sasser is a silky smooth Larry Hughes type player at 6'6. He is a great athlete nice handles and visions that moves fast north and south on the court and he passes well. Still kind of a project because of his shot selection.

Also, sign Air Bullard cheap for two years now b/c of zone defense
Overpay Marc Jackson (5 or 6 mil) for a year and if he does good give him the big contract and if not he was like a rental and we go fishing for a center the next summer.

    roster:

C: Marc Jackson Kelvin Cato Jason Collier
PF: Mo Taylor Bo Outlaw K. Thomas/ Bull
SF: Eddie Griffin Dan Langhi Walt Williams/Bull
SG: Cuttino Mobley Jeryl Sasser Terence Morris
    PG: Steve Francis Moochie Norris

Looks promising to me. Except we might have to trade or wave one of the forwards.

    Any other ideas?

I know Outlaw played at UH and he brings high energy, but there is just something about him that would make me pass on him. Maybe I still have bad memories of seeing him help the Magic beat us yet again for the 1000th straight time overall. Plus, he looks dumb in those goggles. :D

As for Sasser, I really don't know much about him but your comment that he is a "Larry Hughes" type of player doesn't get me excited. Don't get me wrong, Hughes is a tremendous talent but so is Tim Thomas, James Posey, Kelvin Cato :)D ), etc. We need guys who play hard like Moochie not ones who are in love with their press clippings.

I noticed that on your roster you have 15 guys which is impossible because you can only have 12. I personally would be surprised if Collier is not on the IR at the beginning of the season. (I still can't believe what CD and Rudy see in him.) Also, Walt will probably be moved, especially if the Rockets get someone in a sign and trade for Shandon. I do think that the Rockets need to try to sign Marc Jackson because Cato will not get the job done.

My roster would be as follows:

    C: Marc Jackson Kelvin Cato
PF: Mo Taylor K. Thomas Griffin/Bullard
SF: Eddie Griffin Dan Langhi TBD or Williams
SG: Cuttino Mobley TBD or Williams Terence Morris
    PG: Steve Francis Moochie Norris

With Collier on the IR and TBD meaning "To Be Determined" --whoever we get for Shandon.

I don't know about all the maneuverings you suggest, but unless we can get LaFrentz, I would be very happy with Jackson for a two year contract. He is the anti-Cato with maximum effort, tenacity, and looked to be a pretty effective scorer from 15 ft. in.

Remember, we don't need a dominating offensive center!!. He'll get plenty of points just hanging around the basket and easy layups/dunks from our penetrating guards. Remember, before he got injured he was the front runner for Rookie of the Year. Listening to interviews with him, he is a class act and knows what he is all about. Maybe he can shame Cato into giving a damn (pardon me, I'm fantasizing!).

Tracked Jeryl Sasser here in Dallas and I don't think he'll make it in the NBA. He's soft and kind of a SF/SG misfit. Bo Outlaw would be a big plus off the bench simply with his energy, rebounding and defense.

Wouldn't be surprised if at all CD and Rudy have some major moves in the offing re. shoring up our inside game. :)

How about substituting Jim Jackson for Sasser,I don't think he will cost as much as Anderson and keeping all the rest of the players mentioned by Lil'ManSlick if we can somehow get Outlaw.

I don't know to much about Jim Jackson besides that he can score and has scored 50 in a game before. Is he any good at D?

I saw a lot of Jim Jackson when he was here in Dallas with the Mavericks. His offensive game is midrange; he is strong enough to back down defenders and is a good midrange shooter. He is not quick offensively but very strong. Maneuvers around the basket a lot like Oscar Robertson used to (but the similarity ends there!!). I don't think he is more than adequate as a defender.

He is a bit of a misfit as he is not quick enough to play SF and does not have the range of prototypical SG. He is a proven NBA player who can really put points on the board on occasion...however, I always wondered why a player of his ability was traded so often. I think he was a top 6 or 7 draft choice when he came out of Ohio State. Jackson over Sasser is a no brainer.

By the way guys, if I'm not mistaken in order to get M. Jackson we would have to sign him for 3 years. I think this is due because he is a restricted FA.

I think that Collier will spent most of the season on Injured Reserve.
Our problem is our logjam at small forward.
Eddie is a lock to be here.
Dan Langhi is to promising of a scorer to let go.
Walt Williams and his 5 mil contract are hard to let go right now b/c 1. he is a present in the locker room 2. it expires after this year and it will give us cap room again next year 3. Who would want to take on this guy's salary.
We can't just cut Terence Morris b/c we already gave up a first rounder for him.
Matt Bullard we could let go but his 3 point range will be valuable against zone defenses.

How much do ya'll think Mo Taylor will really get?

Has anyone ever seen the way Outlaw shoots free throws? It's the ugliest looking thing I've ever seen, I wouldn't want him on our team simply for that.

Maybe it's because he has those goofy goggles on. Who do you think would win a free-throw shooting contest between Outlaw and Olden "You're under arrest" Polynice? I would have to go with a draw.

You don't hire Bo Outlaw to shoot freethrows. You hire him to scare others into trying to make freethrows instead of dunking. Those goggles are scary. He's the 6th X-Man, you know that of course... His special power is inspiring fear.

I hear that when he's right on your back grabbing a rebound, he whispers into your ear "When you turn around, Xavier is going to f* you from the other side". That would be enough to turn me white. :p

He rebounds well, and gives 110%. I wouldn't mind giving up Shandon (or Walt, for that matter) to get him, although I don't see it happening. They signed him a month ago, and not to trade with us.

Would the Rockets consider trading for Gary Payton?

Like Maurice Taylor, Shandon Anderson, Cuttino Mobley and Kenny Thomas for Gary Payton.

    Would it be financially viable?

Please explain why we would do something like that? Is Payton going to put us over the top this year or next? No. He is in his 30s and you want to trade Mo, Cat and Shandon for him? I would not trade Cat alone for him much less throw in Mo! You can have shandon for free though. The trade you mention makes this a worse team from day one.
