I'm not so sure where the Carr looked like crap idea is coming from. He had 2 bad passes, but he also made some really good plays with his arms and legs...guess you cant notice those though.
True, but Sage still shows a lot more discipline than Carr. Sage looks like he knows what he is doing. David Carr looks like a chicken with its head cut off.
I don't understand this response. How does someone questioning Carr's ability have anything to do them questioning whether Kubiak knows what he's doing?
Honestly I don't know. I read it again and my post doesn't make any sense given the original post. I should stop posting for the night.
1 tackle, and I saw one play where he was able to knock his olineman off balance. I know that Reggie Bush had a 44 yard run though.
He was alright. Lundy tripped over him once but overall he did a decent job. Hell the O-Line as a whole was pretty solid. Seemed like it held up pretty well the whole time and gave Carr et al plenty of time to create plays. On another note, Owen Daniels looked pretty solid at tight end. I can see why they like this guy so much.
I am Gary Kubiak's #1 fan. He most definitely knows what he is doing. When A&M had a coaching vacancy in 2002, I really wanted A&M to hire Gary Kubiak here instead of Dennis Franchione. What made it especially painful was that Kubiak openly wanted the job.
ESPN is already jumping on Mario... "All eyes on Mario Williams, get used to it Houston fans.... for better or for worse." They then went on to show him getting thrown down by Kyle Turley.
Didn't see much of the game. Lundy looked good. I'll give Carr a couple of more games before I jump on his case too bad. Be patient with Mario Williams. He'll be fine, even though we should have taken Bush.
Heh ... after watching Wali Lundy today, I'm even more convinced that the Texans made the right choice by drafting Mario. He looks like the kind of guy who could churn out 1,000 yards on this offense. I thought Carr showed a few jitters on a couple of snaps ... probably overexcitement more than anything, but he still looked good overall in his limited minutes. Rosenfels was excellent. Even Porter looked pretty good. I liked the mobility shown by all three QBs. The offensive line held up well, zero sacks allowed. The defense looked average at best in the first quarter (thanks to LJ exploiting some weakness down the middle), but later on they started to look pretty good. 5 sacks in a preseason game ... not bad. They definitely looked a lot better than KC's defense (supposedly new and improved under Herm Edwards). I liked the depth of the team overall. Should be a good season - not ready to anoint them playoff contenders yet, but it should be a great turnaround season.
I didn't watch most of the game. I did watch the 1st quarter though and Mario Williams didn't impress me. Not like the Reggie Bush highlights I just saw on ESPN . He was outrunning NFL players like in college. Also, in the Texans game, I still think David Carr needs to do a better job of finding Andre.
Mario didnt look so good even though he was only out there for 11 plays so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The Oline didnt give up a sack and Lundy looked real good.
