Spyware/Popup Problem

    I've had a spyware/popup problem for some time now and have run Ad-Aware and Spybot to no avail. Those were the only two fully functional freeware programs of note. I've reformatted a few times before but am not willing to do it again because it's too big a pain in the ass to transfer all my stuff over again. I run Mozilla Firefox. It's nothing too serious, just the occasional popup every once in a while, but it annoys the hell out of me.

    Any program suggestions to fix the problem?

    You might try AVG Professional Free Trial (found here ). It was able to clean out some spyware even Norton couldn't touch.

    I'll give that a shot.
    Like I said, it's a nuisance, but not something I'm willing to make sacrifices over.

    I hear there are some torrents floating around of Norton Anti-Virus and McAfee.

    Seriously, I know everyone dogs Norton, but I stopped a nasty adware (spyquake) in conjunction with spybot.
