Playing for the New York Knicks is not exactly like being in jail, but in an NBA players terms, it must come close.

Thomas, Dolan and the Knicks are harboring a very talented player, one of my favorites for his all around game (and the head tap). And I want to see him freed.

Free Stevie Francis while your at it.

I don't think Richardson necessarily needs to end up on the Rockets for me to be pleased (and I know we have zero chance of getting him, certainly not right now). Just a place where they'll play him and he can have the chance to shine again.

aussie rocket, I like Q also, but there are few others here on this forum that agree. I think he would thrive here at SG.

What the heck happened to Q? I mean when he was with the Clippers he was a rather rugged SG that could back people down and shoot in the post. He was a slasher and would take it to the basket. He was kind of a more physical Mobley.

Then he goes to Phoenix and really gets his 3pt stroke on and becomes deadly from out there. I think a lot of people didnt think he would succeed in Phoenix but he got his 3pt shot going and it really added to his game. Unfortunately when that happened, be practically abandonded any semblence of game in the paint and was just content to spot up on the 3pt line and pretty much do nothing else. In other words, he got lazy. And that probably translated into his defensive game as well.

In NY, he just doesnt fit. They have too many wing players and Q's "current game" just doesnt translate well there.

Too bad Q gave up his aggressiveness.

Q is being shopped but his contract and his back are the problem. Malik Rose is on the block as well because the Knicks want to find more playing time for Frye and Lee but his contract is a problem as well. I wish we could use our trade exception to get either one but it ain't to be.

He needs a firm coach to make him revert back. He'd be an excellent 3rd wheel on a great team and would completely solve our problem at SG. If Tracy and Yao stayed healthy, the addition of Q along with Battier would take us up to championship contender/favorite.

q was great in la with his versatility. He did it all, post, drive, shoot, defend, block and he rebounded very well for a guard his size. He regulated himself to purely a jump shooter and while he made a huge amount of threes in phoenix he isnt a pure shooter. NY has so many guards that he is just lost in the mix, its a shame because when phoenix signed up i remember how happy he was to go there

Found his 3 point stroke? He still only shot 36% from the arc! Finding a 3 point stroke is like Joe Johnson shooting 48% one year with Phoenix. The only reason people think he found his stroke was because he chucked up about 600 3 pointers.

He'd be a nice addition only if the coach convinced him to not camp behind the 3 point line. He really was a nice player before he went to Phoenix and decided he would follow in Antoine Walker's footsteps and just become a volume shooter.

    I agree there.

And IIRC Q's field goal pct was never on the desirable level for a SG, not even when he was at his best in LAC.

I like Q's game, at least as it was in LA -- he was one of the best post-up swingmen in the NBA, a poor man's Paul Pierce really. It's possible that he can still turn it around.

He would likely need that card if he was with Portland. Everyone else there has....

His contract + his back minus no contract protection for his back = tough love. I'd take Q, even at his salary and years, for Howard IF Rox were protected against the injured back.
