I thought this was a really good read. It talks about trading our big three hall of fame centers. There are some interviews with some ex-Rockets still in the NBA about the breaking up of the championship teams. It talks about the Rockets passing over Drexler in the draft and how close the Rockets came to acquiring Michael Jordan...twice. For anyone that enjoys reminiscing a little bit and dreaming about what ifs this is a good article to read.

Just wanted to post, so I can have 30 now. It seems like the majority of them have been arguing with Hayes Street about the '83-84 Rocket team.

I know, crash5179, but Hayes Street doesn't KNOW that. If you want more details, just go to the thread "Time to pull a '97 spurs" and read the back and forths that I have with this guy. I honestly believe that nobody is going to see his side on this.

I hope Lewis doesn't come back to haunt us. We passed on him, twice.

    Good read. Thanks Crash.

My only beef is that the article makes the Rockets organization look snakebit. However, we have two championships over the era, which is more than most teams. A lot of other teams could look back and draw up a dynasty while monday-morning quarterbacking. Like Portland, which only has one title (pre-Bowie).

The article makes the Mo trade look bad. I do not see how it is bad when we got Hakeem and Sampson for Mo. We would have never won a title with Mo, because we did not have any other talent. And who knew Sampson's knees would go bad.

Finally, if we traded Sampson for Jordan, we would have never been able to pick up JBC. JBC could bark circles around Cato.
