you know, just in case we missed a big old guy, we could sign him if he's still not committed anywhere. He tends to hold his won against shaq as much or more than anybody. Let's get him!
Does anyone know if Rafer Alston aka "Skip To My Lou" signed with a team yet? I saw him on the And 1 Tape and he can do some amazing things with a basketball.
I hope we go after Sabonis. No he can't run or jump real well, but he is a great passing big man and is a big body. Just sign him to a 1 or two year deal and let him play 20 minutes a game. I could live with Cato/Collier/Mo could split the other 28 minutes a game at C. No it wouldn't be the greates C combo but would be much better than totally depending on Cato/Collier.
Sabonis has more health issues than Hakeem. I would rather spend time lookin for a younger center that can grow with Francis.
Sabonis is a big body that plugs up the middle. That is exactly what the Rockets need. Like Olajawan, he has health problems...but Cato can back him up like he had to so often since he got here. Notice I said Cato CAN back him up, not that he would actually put out effort.
Sabonis is a type of guy that will rebound and pop in a three pointer now and then. He is the perfect complement to a Kelvin Cato who has no offense but can block shots. If we cant get sabonis, i'd just stay with Cato and Collier
The only thing I don't like about Sabonis: Imagine him in the Rockets uni... those big, white, flabby arms jutting out of a rediculously tight fitting pinstriped pajama jersey. He'd have those huge knee braces on, lumbering up the floor and then stopping at the top of the key and launching that akward, ugly jump shot that leaves you shaking your head and laughing. What a jumper he's got... I haven't see something look that unatural since I saw Fat Patrick the Gorilla wearing that rediculous green Sonics uni. Ohh man, the possibility of the events I just described above have made me a little ill... I'll be back after I puke...
Forget Sabonis. He's another Center that is past his prime. It would look politically incorrect if we "lured" him over here to replace Olajuwon.

Didn't the unemotional one aka Shaq (he talks like a robot if you asked me) write in his autobiography how much he dominated "He's not yourvydas or myvydas, but he's Ourvydas" Sabonis? Talk about getting dunked on--how many times did the robot dunk on this clod in the playoffs last season?
Manny Ramirez wrote: "how many times did the robot dunk on this clod in the playoffs last season?" _____________________________________ Like I said, he does a good a job as anyone else...hehehe...Well, sure he cant jump anymore, but he has a better chance of slowing down Shaq than most if not all of the players on our team...except maybe those rare occasions when Cato wakes up... I just wonder if Sabonis is still bitter about Francis dunking over him right before immitating Sabonis' hat for a few seconds...
As much as I hate to say this, there isn't anybody that can stop the robot AKA Shaq. I have a theory on why the robot dunked so much on "Ourvydas". Sabonis was still having problems seeing after being blinded by that towel thrown by the human timebomb and lovable knucklehead, Rasheed Wallace. That reminds me of one of the funniest things that I ever saw. It was last season, the Spurs were playing the Blazers in Portland and the game was on TNT. Wallace got ejected for what seemed like the 20th time for that season. After the game which Portland lost, Barkley predicted that Mike Dunleavy would make excuses or wouldn't even address the Wallace fiasco. Of course, CB was right on this one. Meanwhile, Craig Sager had the inevitable task of interviewing our hero. He asked the timebomb point blank why did he lose control. The timebomb looked at him, sighed, rolled his eyes and stormed off leaving a shocked Sager sitting all by himself on a bench in the Portland lockerroom. I can't remember if it was CB or Ernie Johnson, but one of them said, "It's too bad that he didn't walk away like that in the game or Portland might have come back and won." I know it seems bad with Olajuwon leaving, but hey at least Rudy and CD and the rest of the team doesn't have to put up with the knucklehead.
Last I heard, Sabonis was looking at playing in Greece this year. In an interview a while back, he said if he stayed in the NBA, he would only play in Portland.
