Which Song did you get wrong for a long time. . . [maybe still don't know] Seal's Kiss of A Rose is it on the Grave . .the gray. . . . Rocket River
there is a website , I must go looking for it, has a ton of beauties. Some so funny you actually doubt whether people misheard them. one that comes to mind is Tina Turner "whats Love cockatoo, cockatoo?"
http://www.kissthisguy.com http://www.amiright.com (i posted this one on here a couple of years ago - I nearly died I laughed so hard at some of the stuff on there. I'm not sure it's loading correctly right now though - maybe it's dead?). My personal fave of my own misheard lyrics : Blinded by the light Wrapped up like a douche And then I rode her in the night...
I've seen this particular line with a bunch of different variations (Green, Gray, Grave). I've seen it on websites with lyrics, closed captioning, and elsewhere but I still don't know what the line is supposed to be. One that puzzled me was TLC's Waterfalls. The line is "Don't go chasing waterfalls", but I thought the "chasing" sounded like "Jason". So I puzzled over it for a while and came up with two interpretations: 1. Don't go Jason. Water Falls. 2. Don't go to Jason's waterfalls. Yeah, I feel pretty stupid.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl Before I learnt what the song was about, I was singing it as "when the dark cocks are starting to crow". For a good period of time, too
"All the world's illz, sittin' on chrome 24-inch wheelz" -Lupe Fiasco nothing to misunderstand here...just thought i'd share
Bob Marley - No Woman, No Cry I thought "My feet is my only carriage" was "My fear is my only courage" I was disapointed when I found out the real lyric because I liked the mis-heard lyric more.
Back in HS, there was a kid who "discovered" Hendrix and one day between classes he was walking around singing that... "Scuse me while I kiss this guy." everyone in the area stopped and looked at him, then started laughing. Probably scarred the kid for life... he's now a lawyer in Dallas.
Steve Miller Band's "Jet Airliner": "Bingo Jed had a light on" Men at Work's "Land Down Under": "He just smiled and gave me a bite of his sandwich"
There's a recent crappy Chili Peppers song - probably off Californication - that I have never, ever understood the chorus to: "The burger shed is a lonely view" WTF is he saying?
Dru Hill "How Deep Is Your Love" Ven aqui little mami, Puerto Rican, I see. Ven aqui little mami, Puerto Rican Nazi oops
that's classic!! my wife and i always laugh about that song for that very reason. i'm looking forward to going home and giving her your "interpretation" of those lyrics!
Good luck to anyone who can remotely understand what Ed Vedder is saying in the song "Even Flow" other than the obvious chorus.
If you don't know them that is true. But I had a copy of them at one time, and once you know what he is saying they make perfect sense.
