Papaloukas, 29 years old 6-7 PG. Lacks athleticism for the NBA... He'd prolly end up like Planinic (Who's coming back to Europe BTW) or even worse. And IMHO Planinic will be better player than he is on this side of the pond.

Diamantidis, 6-5 26 years old defensive specialist. Skills nowhere near NBA level.

I don't know much about Greek basketball.

But I know this guy is the player that is hindering the growth and development of Vasillis Spanoulis both in his Panathinaikos team and the national team.

Dimitrios Diamantidis, the Diamond Man, who is selected for 2 consecutive seasons Defensive Player of the Year in Euro League....and he is only 26 years old.

But even Dimitrios Diamandtidis is not the starting point guard of the Greek national team.

There is another much more skillful point guard in the 29 year old Theodoros Papaloukas , the MVP of this year's Euro League.

So in the perking order, Spanoulis is always behind the above 2.

I think that Papaloukas would do very good in NBA. He has Ginobili-like skills to put the ball in the hole. He is very tough. No comparison to Planinic there..

    Ginobili-like skills?

His bball IQ is his strongest asset and athleticism-wise there's an ocean between him and Manu. That is a no comparison.

DraftExpress posted a decent profile of Papaloukas among other 'prospects' a while ago: http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1288

    Who is Marko Milic?
You mean the kid who went to the NBA without even been noticed in Europe?
He havn`t done anything in europe, so why and how do you compare him with the Euroleague MVP?

Also Diamantidis who block Nowitzkis Shot 2 times in 2 Games last year isn`t anything special.
Also not his Steals against Parker, Diaw & Co, right?

You sad Papaloukas isn`t an athlet. Well, my Videos proof youre wrong.
You sad Diamantidis isn`t any near to NBA-Level Skills.
Well, if this schould be so, then this should mean that in the NBA every Player blocks Nowitzkis Shots several times a Game, and Parke, Diaw & Co get the Ball stolen by any "NBA-Level-Player" even more frequently.
    Is it like this?

    I don`t think so.

In your "DraftExpress" comments it`s also not mentioned anywhere.

By the way, if you write about Papaloukas "His bball IQ is his strongest asset", what do you mean with "no NBA worth"(free translation) ?
That in the NBA you just need some of this guys?

Lol, look at the guys behind Yao and Spanoulis. This somehow reminds of me Japanese manga.

In fact, that was the point. He looked great on a highlight compilation. You can make anyone look great that way.

Wow, and that alone makes him an NBA-caliber player? I said Diamantidis is a defensive specialist, but his overall skillset isn't one of an NBA guard. If it was, at the age of 26 NBA teams would be all over him... which isn't exactly the case.

I don't see how they prove anything.

Papaloukas's play during Euroleague Final four couple of months ago was his best showcase. Anyone who watched it, should have seen that he's not some great athlete. Nowhere near NBA standards.

He doesn't blow opposing guards with his 1st step. Instead, he recognizes his advantage in size and strenght and posts them up, forcing either an easy basket or double-team creating an open shot for his teammates.
