I heard this on 610 twice today, they claim that Bomar has met with UH and had dinner with Art Briles, and if the NCAA clears him to play Division 1 football, he will play for UH. The NCAA investigation is ongoing and they probably won't have a ruling for like 6 weeks or 2 months. He obviously won't play this year at all, it would be in 07

I posted a few things about this in the "Bomar dismissed from OU" thread.

Apparently both Quinn and Bomar are very interested in coming to UH. It's just a matter of paperwork now it seems, if they don't get some major NCAA penalty (like a long suspension) I expect to see them in Cougar Red. Along with a number of other Big 12 transfers in 07. Could be a watershed summer for the Coogs.

I normally don't approve of recruiting bad character guys. But UH has been down for so long..and going to Robertson three times and high school games twice last year...the level of interest of the Average fan present was MUCH greater at the HS games.

I think we need to somehow, someway win a lot of games..and not just C-USA stuff..we need to drop a national power. If Bomar can be a bandaid for a year or so and give us a boost to show potential Blue Chippers that we can be competative on a Nat level.....I say go for it

I don't think his character is that bad. I have quite a few friends that played NCAA football, and all of them got money from boosters. And he got caught drinking beer a couple of times...which is no different from many other 20 year olds in america

I read on the UTEP boards that Bomar has registered at UH. Could be a coup for Cougars if he can stay straight...

There's no doubt Bomar is an a-hole. But that a-hole was the top QB recruit in the USA. He would do wonders for the football program, so would a win over Miami or LSU.

I'll take a couple of 9-10 win seasons over beating a big name school any day.

We play Miami this year, Alabama and Oregon next year.

wasn't this in the other post...Oh well, my lucky day...

I think everyone deserves a second chance, and why not here...This is a passing offense and he'll fit right in...Besides, Penders got his 3rd or 4th chance at UofH, so why not Bomar...See my sig...

But Bomar isn't like any of the other 20 year olds in America, he has a responsbility to his team and his school, he hasn't shown that he is willing to accept this responsiblity.

On receiving money from boosters, I'm sure a lot of kids do it, but how many of them are the starting QB for a National Title contendor?

As for drinking, yes, every 20 year old college football player drinks, but to be caught drinking in public twice in 1 season is pretty bad. Getting caught drinking after the TCU lost is kind of understandable, but getting caught drinking at a Hornet's game with 20,000 people around you is just plain dumb.

Like I said, his behavior doesn't seem all that bad on paper, but like RT, these guys have certain responsibilities and expectations they need to uphold.

Bomar brings bigtime talent on the field, plus he brings us legitimacy, and makes us interesting.

Just saw Fox 26 and Berman mentioned that Bomar and J.D. Quinn were interested in attending UH. He also mentioned that they looked into Sam Houston State yesterday since they could play this year since Sam Houston is not a D1 school.

I think that Bomar and Quinn end up at UH because of Briles' system that allows QB's to put up huge numbers.

I go to UT but I really would love to see UH become a power in one sport or another. Hell I'd cheer for a former Sooner. UH deserves more.

I think he'll go to UH but he's also considering SHSU.

It all depends on if Stoops gives him the waiver or not. I think he would rather see Bomar go to a Division II school.

    I like it....

Everyone F's up once in a while - he's still a kid. This would bring some major fan interest as well - which is a big plus for a school trying to develop an identity as a good football program. UH seems headed in the right direction in football, basketball, and baseball.

Why would the NCAA clear him? Punish a school that enforces NCAA rules?

Stoop & OU are getting off too easy from NCAA.
I'm sure there was knowledge of what was taking place at that car dealership. They are not stupid.

i'm an OU- hatah. but in all honesty, stuff like that happens without the university knowing all the time. he lied about the hours he worked. a booster helped make that happen. i doubt very seriously stoops had any cluse it was going on.
