First round or second round exit.

Excetp for 111, there's not a whole lot of talent to speak of. In terms of making up the deficit in talent with superb coaching, JVG's coaching is not that inspiring. We'll be playing good D in the playoffs, but our offense may still lack a punch. There may not be enough seasoned players on this team to go to war with.

guys, all we need is a tough second round or hopefully conference final exit to attract marquee free agents in 07 to come and join us. we'll move on to win a championship from then on.

the thing is according to chad ford, the bobcats are the only team to have significant cap space next summer, and the crop of free agents are supposedly very talented, well at least comparing to this yr and last yr. so if we do well in the playoffs then we can attract good free agents to come.

    anyone feel me here?

Didn't we all say the same thing last year with DA and Stro?

What we deseperately needed was a third scorer that could create for himself and the team to keep us afloat and over .500 for the unfortunate occassions T-mac and/or Yao are out for any extended period of time.. The health of those two is STILL a huge If .. So, just as we optimistically celebrate, "if they're healthy, we can make some noise", we must also frown, "if they're not, here's looking to the purportedly top heavy draft class of 2007"... For as the roster stands now, that will be just as guaranteed as the former, with a team full of defensive minded shooters and a dash of athleticism asked to pick up the slack porportioned to a top five all around talent and the best center of the league.. not to mention, who's main ball handler would be one Rafer Alston.. who can't do either of those two things.. (defend/shoot)

It's 50/50.. we could've used the insurance of another third scorer who could create...

That way there wouldn't be so many equally possible 'ifs'.. and I could vote..

I think this is the team taht can go up to 2nd round of playoffs as long as the first 5 players are healthy...

I think we win about...53 games and exit in the second round after a tough fight.

I just REALLY believe that T-Mac is the absolutely key. He is unguardable. He is top 5 in the league. He can take over games. Add that to a center that you can argue is the best out there right now and I dont see why we can't make it to the second round.

And tell me this. Why is it that we are always TRYING TO MATCH UP TO OTHER TEAMS when we have T-Mac and YAO who NOBODY can match up with if healthy?

WE need to dictate to OTHER teams their matchups to US. Thats why I feel optimistic. Yao's progress and a healthy T-Mac.

    EXACTLY.

The moment TMac and Yao play to their potential, is the moment that we can contend. Seeing the way Yao played at the end of last season gives me hope. If he can keep it up, I like our chances regardless of our guard situaiton.
