After reading here about how things are going with Norris and Anderson, I got to thinking: If Fegan wants to play hardball, then Moochie and Shandon will be left out in the cold. Personally, I think they are several good back-up free agents out there. I don't know if they are close to re-signing or signing with other teams, but I think the Rockets should look at the following: Robert Pack--has always been a good back-up PG--it's just that he's a mini-Hakeem in that he can't stay healthy. Sam Mitchell--a veteran who's dependable and reliable--could start at SF and give way to Eddie Mario Elie--yea, he's old, but he still spends a lot of time in Houston and he could prove to be invaluable to young guys like Eddie, Morris, and even Francis and Mobley. Jim Jackson--he's become a travelling gypsy, but there's no question that he's got above-average skills. It's just a matter of getting it out of him. Also, they might want to look at Rodney Rogers, Bryant Stith, Doug Overton, and Fred Hoiberg. I agree with the majority in that Fegan might have gotten away with the crap he did with Hakeem, but that s*** is not happening again with Moochie and Shandon.
I've always liked Jim Jackson. If he could stay healthy for a whole season he'd be a steal. He's a big guard who can swing between the 2 and 3. Much better offense than Shandon. I'm still trying to figure out why he hasn't returned to his old form from back in Dallas. He isn't demanding a ridiculous multiyear deal like Shandon, and wouldn't make more than $3-4 million a year. I say give him a shot. Elie wouldn't be a bad pickup either. Maybe he could really help our youngsters like Griffin and Mobley out. He could put Cato in line. Obviously at this point of his career, his skills have diminished, but still a good guy to have around. Point guards are a dime-a-dozen, and Moochie is no exception. I like the guy alot, but lets not overpay him to be a backup point. I think we should blackball Fegan like Utah did. Losing no offense Anderson and Moochie will not significantly hurt us because they can easily be replaced.
Rodney Rogers is NOT a good option for the Rockets. He is a sf that can shoot as good or worse than bullard and he's fat and lazy. I LOVE Moochie norris and i hope he stays, but if he doesnt, i really like Robert Pack. i remember he would torch our Matt Maloney whenever he played us. I also hope Shandon stays but if now, Jim Jackson is the best choice, his career averages are at about 16 pts per game
Thats rule #1. Don't overpay for bench players. The Kerr's, Armstrongs, and Packs of the world. That goes for Norris and Anderson, both bench players. If Moochie wants to go, Colson is ready or Shammond. If Anderson wants to go, Langhi or Morris could get minutes there. I think Jimmy Jackson still wants to be a starter so I don't think he'll come here. Jackson would be a nice fit in Utah or S.A. Even though i don't want to see those teams get stronger, he would fit nice with those teams.
We lost Hakeem in favor of 'the new generation.' Why on Earth would we want to go out and sign a bunch of old a55 vets when all we need is for Cato to step up? We might get to the playoffs this year. If we do... Unless Shaq and Kobe get their legs amputated.. We won't be beating the Lakers in WCF this year. So we're better off letting our young team play together and build up chemistry with each other. And hope that Cato steps up. Everyone is so worried who we need to sign this year. Unless we can sign someone who will guarantee us depth in the playoffs (Duncan, Webber, Shaq, etc.) we should just wait, use what we got, and prepare for next year. Yea, I lost track of thoughts there, but you get the point.

Do you think that you and me are going to have call a players only meeting so we can finally win a game? We hadn't won one in almost a week.
Another option to Norris if he leaves could be Erick Strickland who can play both positions as a reserve provided he comes cheap.
