    Same thing i was wondering. I kinda like that though Burke can get something started at the 7th spot. May not always be 3 up and 3 down.

    Watching the game on MLB.TV... it has the feel of a playoff game, since the D-backs announcer is Thom Brennamen (when he's not working for Fox).

    Maybe that's why I feel more jittery than I should...

    How stupid is it to not have Taveras steal second if you're going to bat Everett in the 2 spot? It's stupid to begin with but you have to manufacture a run with it if you're going to try it.

    Its stupid when you still have Berkman batting 3rd... Willy's not an "automatic" base-stealer either (he has great speed, but has difficulty getting the proper lead/jump needed for high base-stealing success).

    He steals at a 70% success rate which is plenty good enough. I'd still prefer getting him over to 3rd with 1 out.

    you know it really sucks, all of the national media people have pujols penciled in as mvp, and i can understand that. but then they automatically go to either Beltran or David Wright without even mentioning Lance Berkman. it's infuriating, both Pujols and Berkman have missed games and they identcal batting averages, pujols with a few more HRs, and lance with almost 10 more rbi's and he has no protection in the worst statiscal offense in the NL. His numbers also blow away David Wright, and hits 40 points higher than Beltran. Beltran hits in a murderers row offense where teams have to pitch to him. berkman has had nobody.

    Lance = MVP!!!

    Actually, if I were a Mets fan, I'd be campaigning for Carlos Delgado... he completely changed that lineup, and took all the pressure off Beltran.

    Also, if Lance played in NY, he'd be the most colorful, well-known, personality in sports... hell, he may even have had his own show on tv by now: "The Big Puma hour". Its a NY thing... but its still Pujols' trophy to lose.

    your points make me think that if the astros were to capture the wild card,

    i could conceivably see berkman getting that mvp trophy!
