    ...off of www.raptors.com , a Q & A section that I thought was kinda funny...

Q: Do you remember when Vince dunked on you at the end of the game last season (March 2000)?

Olajuwon: He didn't dunk on me. I didn't jump. It's only a dunk over you when you try to block it.

Or if Vince jumps over your head for a crotch facing slam.

    Hakeem,

He DUNKED the Ball. Admit it, or is it only a dunk if your ego tries to block it!

Q : Hakeem, do you remember the times the rim started blocking your shots?

I can't believe they asked him that? That was funny...I don't care what Olajuwon said---he was posturized by Vinsanity. I wished the guy would have asked him, "How did it feel to see Lorenzo Charles, who has never done anything, grab Whittenburg's airball and dunk it to win the NCAA Championship while you were standing around doing nothing?" Olajuwon's response would probably be "I had something in my eye. Didn't you see me lying on the court trying to get it out?"

I also thought it was funny that he said that Toronto already had a franchise player in Vinsanity. Does Steve Francis not qualify as a franchise player? He also would not answer if the Rockets lowballed him and he was asked if he was healthy and he said yes. I still think the Rockets did the right thing by not mortgaging their future for someone who has proven that he cannot stay healthy all season. Hell, we already have somebody like that and he is our classic underachiever--love him or hate him, Kelvin Cato. :D

Q: Hakeem, how does it feel when a former MVP you dominated in the playoffs gets more than twice the money you were offered when that MVP has been playing healty but still crappy?

You're taking that too far and looking for meanings that aren't there.

I thought it was a classy move. If he said "yes" it would bash the Rockets. If he said "no", he probably would be lying.

Did you expect him to say "no"?

    Agreed.

I've seen so much about the Vince Carter dunk on Hakeem lately. I guess people are just mad that Hakeem is gone so they bring out a dunk on him that happened the season before last. That's crazy. Maybe if they want to go all the way back to his Rookie year they could find some more times where he was burned. I will say that Hakeem was evading like crazy when he said he wasn't dunked on.

They should ask him about the dunk KJ through down on Hakeem.

    Now THAT was a dunk.

Dr of Dunk: I agree with your points. It's just that it p***es me off that Olajuwon waited so long to make up his mind, when most of us knew or suspected all along that he wasn't coming back.

Come on guys. I'm a bit angry also, but let it go. This isn't relive all of Hakeem's embarassing moments. Ok, KJ dunked on him. How many times has he swatted KJ ?

Come on. Most of us guessed he wasn't coming back or was coming back. We had no idea. We had a few people make a comment and about 1000 join sides and they fed off each other. We don't know what Hakeem was thinking. We don't know if he was bs'ing. We don't know if he was waiting for more money. We know nothing more than each other has said or what we've read. The fact is, if you hate Hakeem, you hate him because he left your team. If you love Hakeem, you love him for the player he is and what he meant to the team. You can't hate Hakeem because he left the Rockets dangling on purpose.
