"chew through my ball sack, chompers" or "i am the @ssman!" hmmmm... both this needs to be a poll. hehe rH --------------- bring back the multi-colored smilies!!
Simpsons, no doubt. Two-part episodes about loosing a car in a parking garage is not good TV. The Simpsons, however, are very direct about their dysfunction.
Hey, I love that episode! If I had to pick, I'd go with Seinfeld. I can honestly say I have not seen a Seinfeld episode I didn't like. Can't say the same fo the Simpsons; most are good, but there are 5 or 6 that are just mediochre. Both shows are great, though!
Hell yes! I used to say Simpsons, but lately, the only show I even look forward to is Family Guy. But between Seinfeld and Simpsons, I would say Simpsons.
The Simpsons has been both better and worse than Seinfeld. Seinfeld was Even-Steven: nothing too fantastic and nothing too fantastically bad. The Simpsons, on the other hand, used to be fantastic and is now fantastically bad. If we're comparing the best they have to offer, Simpsons wins. If we're comparing their averages, Seinfeld.
Lisa: "It is better to remain silent and be thought the fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt." Homer's Brain: "Uh-oh what did that mean. Better say something or they'll think you're stupid." Homer: "Takes one to know one!" Homer's Brain: "Swish!"
I think pound for pound, there is NO SHOW funnier than Family Guy. But Seinfeld is so consistently funny it's just incredible. EVERY EPISODE is great, and they have awesome replay appeal -- I can watch the same tape of episodes all day and not be tired of it. The Simpsons is interesting actually. It's had its ups and downs -- it was awesome, then bad, then awesome and then bad -- it is VERY inconsistent. BUT, it almost assuredly wins any competition because it's been such a long run. It has so many subtle humors that set it apart from other shows. I'd like to submit another show that deserves consideration. Not everyone loves it, but I really enjoy Frasier as well. I don't feel it's quite as funny as Seinfeld, but the show is always fresh, always funny, and you genuinely care about the characters. A couple other funny and underrated shows: Phil Hartman-era News Radio. That show is just incredibly hilarious, back when Phil was a part of it. Michael J. Fox-era Spin City. Another underrated hilarious show. DAG. It came on after or before Frasier last year (I forget when). That was the show's first season, and it's gonna be back next year -- VERY, VERY funny stuff. It's about a secret service agent who gets demoted to first lady duty. A few Overrated shows: Friends Futurama
I have to agree with fadeaway. I have seen some crappy simpsons episodes , but i have only see one bad seinfeld. The very first one was bad... REAL BAD....... just think if everyone had gone on the frist episode there would have been no jerry, no george, no elaine AND NO KRAMER AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Love'm both. Both of them can make me laugh so hard my sides will hurt. Vengance, I agree about Talk Radio and Spin City, I never wathced them 1st run, but thanks to the WB, I love both shows. I also love Friends,I used to not like it at all, but it grew on me. Overrated, Drew Carey. I just dont find him very funny. Down right BAD, Caroline in the City. This thread is turning into a WB commerical
Seinfeld...no doubt. My business partner and I recently had this discussion. When we first started our business, he said that Simpsons was better than Seinfeld....after 6 months, he changed his mind. He started watching Seinfeld regularly (because he had to in order to keep up with me quoting from it all day long -- including in court) and changed his mind.
