I hate to say it, but your not going to get any bids. The card probably books for about $.75.

It is a "rare" Barkley card, it's a special edition of the regular card with I think only around 250 made. Unfortunately mass production and mass forgery of limited edition series of basketball cards since the mid 90s has destroyed any value they might have had. Your best bet is to hold onto it and maybe your grandchildren will be able to get something for it.

Yeah i agree unless there is a hand or machine printed # on it you wont get much for it. Even the few rare cards I have I am holding onto for a long time when time will most likely destroy the other ones or mine becomes the last available on an open market. I have a few cards that are number up to 10 and 15.

Oh, and never buy cards off Ebay 99% are fakes. There are more gem mint 10 Jordan RC on Ebay than were ever made. The only way to buy/sell legitimate cards is through a trade show, and even then good luck squeezing in with the billion other sellers

they just had an article on msn saying that sports cards arent' worth anything anymore. that sucks. i have tons of cards that are apparently worthless because of forgery and other things.

99% - That sounds a little high. No - actually that sounds like it's a made up exageration. Cards like Jordan RC maybe, but all cards?

I'm sure I paid alot more for it on Ebay 4-5 yrs ago than what I'm going to get out of it now. :( I sold another Platinum Ultra Barkley about a month ago for $3 something. I was amazed something that "rare" went that cheap...

I'd have to concur with that. I sell cards on Ebay alot, and they go for alot less than they did 2-3 yrs ago.

I just sold about 80% of my collection this week for $350. It was probably about 20,000 cards. There were alot of commons, but a nice amount of stars from the 50's-current [Griffey Jr,Marino,Elway,Kobe,Gwynn,Boggs,Duncan,McGrady RC's] as well as older cards of Mantle,Clemente,Rose,Mays etc. It was kinda depressing :( I did hold onto my 86-87 Fleer BSKT set,72 Topps Baseball and my Barkley collection....for now....

Do a search for Lacoste polos, you'll see lots of 100-1000 going for $8-$15, all of the fakes. Why? Because it's really profitable to make a bunch of crap polos, slap a half assed logo on them and sell them for a ridiculous profit with slave labor.

Faking basketball cards are just as easy, it's really simple to bribe people in third world countries to "borrow" the factories already there to print up sheets of whatever card is popular. That's not to say all cards on Ebay are fake, there are some legitimate sellers, but there are far more people who sell fakes, tamper with jersey cards, ect.. that it's just not worth the risk.

Most of the blame on the bottoming out of the card market is put squarely on Fleer, Topps, UD, ect.. they've made sooo easy to find any auto/jersey/floor/hair card that nobody's willing to pay a premium.
