i predict another "Can we get Sprewell" thread before the preseason starts.

amazing that people complain about JVG targeting ex-knicks, yet they all want to know how can we get Sprewell.

even if sprewell did come back to the nba he will not be as effective due to his age and the time off im sure he has lost a step

I agree with the apprehension about Spree... Yes he is old, and has not played for a year...

BUT.... I watched about every game last season, and my concerns about our perimeter offense and opportunities created/being created, outweighs my fear of signing another older player.

A lot of people on this board seem to be high on the fumes of hope, Spree is probably a better asset than anything we will be able to pull off.... (see failed Mike James pursuit)

I agree, he would a fine pick up by me...Not like when he was younger, but I'd take the hoop attack guard we need.

Even if he does make a return to the NBA everyone knows that hes not going to get the money he wanted 2 seasons or w/e ago. So w/e contract deal he signs everyones going to be on his ass making fun of him.

If he was worth the trouble, he'd be in the league right now. For his dignity, he needs a certain minimum; and he's not worth that minimum.

This is a perfect example of "When Keeping It Real, Goes Wrong." He was too proud to take a paycut when the Timberwolves offered a 3-year, $21 million extension that he was forced to retire or be humilited in his eyes by playing for less than he used to make.

He's about to turn 36 and hasn't played at a high NBA level for over a year.

im sorry, but i dont count making 7 mil a year for 3 years not making enough money. he would have been making more than Mike james after his career season. his ego was his ultimate enemy.
