Most of the people in this thread have posted "free post" style garbage, but I agree with you Freak. I think this whole "losing respect for Dream" stuff is simply pitiful. I almost wish that Hakeem could take away those titles from those selfish fans, and keep them only for those who still appreciate his efforts.

Nice one freak. I was beginning to think that those Hakeem bashers were fickle minded.

I dont disrespect the DREAM its just that i was upset at the time and felt cheated but when you think of the TWO championships cheated is the last thing on your mind.

So good luck in Toronto #34 and see you again when you retire where you belong in houston :)

I think you are jumping the gun here a bit, the "survey" didnt read: "HAVE YOU LOST ALL RESPECT FOR DREAM" because I have lost some respect for him, not for entertaining offers from other teams, for the amount of time it took for him to finally decide, and for the small amount of money he left for, $4 million, 16.7 is good enough, but 13 isnt, yeah okay.

Say what you want, blame it on his agent, say that he didnt really wanna leave but in the end found it was best for him, or that he was really torn over the decision, thats all a load of BS to me, if you wanted to go to Toronto, then you should have negotiated durng the period of time before if was okay to sign instead of waiting till after that date passes and then lay up there and force the Rockets and the rest of the players to wait around on you, to me, thats lame.

I dont know if many will remember, but when Hakeem signed his 5 year $55 million contract way back when, it was right around the time Shaq had signed his 7 year 100 million dollar contract, or however much it was, anyhow, they asked Dream what he thought about being underpaid at that time, since he dominated Shaq in the finals, I remember his response at that time being, someone is always gonna make more than you, you cant think about that, you cant get caught up in who makes more money....... you get the idea, I would like to know what happened to that guy.

I dont wanna hear Cato makes $6-7 million, Cato appeared to be a great find at the time he was signed, and Dream doesnt look like anything but an aging veteran showing his age. If we are gonna get into who gets paid what, why does everyone so quickly forget that Barkley was making less than Bullard in his last season. Personally I agree with the people who felt he should have retired when he said he was gonna retire, maybe he has some gas left in the tank, but the wheels on that car are slowly falling off.

Dont take my opinions as, "HE HATE HAKEEM", thats not it at all, I just hate the people who wanna sit there and label me and other Rocket fans for having a different opinion. We are entitled to that, and having a different opinion doesnt mean we arent "REAL FANS", we just look at that glass and it doesnt seem half full any more.

But ultimately, I have been a fan of Hakeem since he was drafted by the Rockets, I want his number retired, I think he more than deserves that, and I am sure 99% of the posters here would agree, but dont drop this in our laps because we arent myopic like some other fans

I think we need to bring Charles Jones out of retirement, (He's only 55, isn't he?) and give him #34.
    :D
