Okay, this is how my idea goes... Houston Rockets: Out: Tracy Mcgrady to New Jersey Nets Juwan Howard, Luther Head, Ryan Bowen to Denver Nuggets In: Richard Jefferson, Kenyon Martin New Jersey Nets: Out: Richard Jefferson to Rockets Marcus Williams/some other mediocre player to Denver Nuggets (preferably with a 3mil/4mil contract) In: Tracy Mcgrady Denver Nuggets: Out: Kenyon Martin In: Juwan Howard, Luther Head, Ryan Bowen, Marcus Williams/filler. The problem with this trade is the Nets. Currently, they won't trade Jefferson straight up for T-Mac. Come to think of it, Nuggets shouldn't do it neither. Aw shucks. What the heck, just for fun. Check this out: Yao/Martin/Battier/Jefferson/Alston Holy ****!!!! Woah baby, this lineup is toasting...
Had to have a go, i couldn't help it! ROX RECEIVE: S. Stoudamire, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom PG: Stoudamire--If shooting is the preference over distribution then Salim is a great fit. SG: T-mac SF: Battier PF: Odom--The perfect PF for this team. C: Yao Breakdown: Yao is surrounded by athleticism and shooters. LA RECEIVE: Rafer, Josh Smith, Bowen, Zaza HAWKS RECEIVE: K-Mart, Luther Head NUGGS RECEIVE: Juwan, Childress. For the other teams the are reasons for this trade and against it, Denver receives a solid back-up for Nene and a starting caliber SG in Childress. Both contracts expire well before K-Marts. Lakers would receive a starting PG, an Athletic, defensive SF and a solid PF/C in Zaza to offset Odoms contributions. Although i don't see them giving up on Bynum so soon. Hawks receive K-Mart who excels in a running game and in the Eastern Conference. Adds toughness to the team. Luther replaces the Back-up guard spot.
That lineup would be awful. Alston, Jefferson, and Martin have no shot whatsoever. And Battier is a role player at best. I thought our shooting was awful this year, but good god, this team (outside of Battier) would build a brick house in no time. Martin can't even jump anymore (like Howard) but at least Howard can hit a mid range jumpshot and won't annihilate your cap space for years to come. Also isn't Jefferson a max player? which would give us three max players (two of which don't come close to deserving it) I love Jefferson but he's a Jason Kidd product that wouldn't come close to being as productive on this team. Kenyon martin was also a Kidd product and tanked miserably once he left New Jersey. You think we have scoring troubles as is, imagine this lineup where Yao Ming is literally the only guy who can create his own shot. This trade is Babcock and Weisbrod-esque. I suggest we take a pass on this one.
Just added Ruben Patterson for Atlanta, i didn't realise how much Atl was giving away. It's really difficult to make a realistic, fair trade. Especially when Juwan is involved.
Yeah, that line up would be toast and badly burned I'm still trying to get over how Jefferson is bettern tha McGrady!!!
i have a quick question. Portland now has maglore, aldridge, randolf and pryzbilla. Are they going to keep all four? Can we offer anything to them? I am sure they wont want juwan since they have enough bigs but would b nice for zach. BUt i am sure they want a vet guard like sura to help with loss of blake and telfair. Ne ideas?
oo and hellllll no to jefferson for mcgrady? Whos gonna help spread the floor then, and u dont always gotta dble jefferson like u do wit tmac
We've talked about a thousand trades on here with the rockets not doing anything....I wish they would make a couple of more moves to solidify some of our weak spots..ie shooting and PF/C position...too bad the rockets organization doesn't have an imagination like half the people on this site...its still fun though... I was one of the people that was so frustrated last year, that I wouldn't have minded if we traded Mcgrady (if we got a superstar in return or 2 or 3 really good players)....but now that the sting of last season and frustration has died a little bit, I think he deserves a chance to prove to us that he is still a Superstar 25-28 pt/gm scorere..I know he has it in him if he can just stay healthy....his interview on NBS Sports Sunday showed him pretty confident about this year...he says he has a lot to prove to all of the doubters out there and he has worked harder this offseason than any other... I really think he wil push himself this season and i'm looking forward to it... But at the same time I have my fingers crossed about his back...
Thanks alot Rockets for giving up JHO,Deke Alston,Bowen and Head for Baron Davis......that was half of our team. Looks like that T.E better buy us a PF quick.
What about Luther Head for Juan Dixon? Apparently, Dixon's up for grabs. He'd give us someone who could give us a different look at the 1 who could also play some 2. He'd also give us another scoring option alongside Yao and TMac. Although Head can shoot, he doesn't penetrate as much and can't handle the 1 as readily. VSpan, JL3, and Snyder are decent additions to the backcourt, but it'd be nice to have another vet back there. Dixon's in the last year of his contract and dealing him for a solid youngster like Head wouldn't be a bad idea for Portland.
okay, this is pure speculation so I don't want to start a thread for it. But could there be some quiet talks between the Rockets and Cleveland? Wesley seems to have agreed to terms with the Cavaliers ages ago, but hasn't signed yet. and Damon Jones is dispensable. Drew Gooden is asking too high a price for them to re-sign. Is it possible the Rockets is trying to do a sign and trade for Drew Gooden and Damon Jones? Rockets can include Juwan, Luther and Wesley in the package. Does this trade make sense? I think the question is how much the rockets want to spend on Gooden and how useful Juwan is to the Cavaliers. Given that they have James and possible a good slasher in Shannon Brown, and a servicable center, and a bunch of shooters, Juwan should fit in the system quite well. I'm just wondering why Wesley hasn't signed yet so there you go. What are your thoughts?
Good question. Still, can't imagine us being willing to pay Drew Gooden much more than $5 million per.
Not sure why Cleveland would want JHoward. But it does make you wonder WHY DWesley hasn't signed yet! It is just to quiet on the Rockets front.... CD - go get a BIG!
Better to trade Tracy Mcgrady, Luther Head and Juwan Howard to Clippers for Brand and Karman, and then trade Karman and Alston to Warriors for Richardson. Houston's Startup list as below: Richardson Lucas Yao Brand Battier
