I'm not surprised by that attitude. I figure most of them are like that anyway. It's not like I listen to them because they are true 'artists'. I listen for superficial beats and rhymes. And they rap them because I'm willing to pay for those beats and rhymes.

Hey, if you want real emotion or whatever in your rap, there are guys out there doing that type of stuff. If you like to pop that trunk, there's Paul Wall.

Umm, this is new from Paul Wall? He and Chamillionaire weren't kidding when they sang hits like "My Money Gets Jealous" and "N Luv Wit My Money".

Through that entire clip, the only thing I could think was "what must this man sound like when he's drunk?"

Anyway, I love the music, keep making it. You, too, Chamillionaire. :)

gmao. :D that's one ghetto mofo. looking at that video reminded me of growing up around my cousins, drinking sugar water, and buying cool cups (frozen kool-aid in a styrofoam cup) from the old lady in the 'hood for 25 cents.

it's sad that rap has come to this state, but yeah... it's entertaining in a reality tv sort of way. :( :D as someone mentioned earlier... it's good "pop your trunk" music or boodee dancin' stuff.

    that was funny.

    That's my boy.

What's sorry about that is that it's true.

And I love how people defend rap saying, no, they can rap about stuff other than rakes and hoes, but stuff like grills, and cars, and money.

    What it do?

People want to act like this is just rap
It just happens that rappers are a little more honest

I hear ALOT of songs on the radio
that seem like there were wrote in crayon
    or
pretentious crap trying to sound Deep

Paul Wall has maybe 2 songs . .. and he probably repeats the verse in the song
so at most 4 verses that are decent. . . but
his s**t gets old quick . . like mike jones. . .etc

Paul Wall is solid -- check him in the 'Draped Up' remix featuring many of H-Town's finest allstars...

Thanks Omega. You have explained perfectly why I do not listen to rap, death metal, or Guns and Roses. :)

Yeah, rap is so superficial now. Makes you long for the days when rappers wrote meaningful lyrics like these:

Let your big butt bounce from right to left
Cos it's a actual fact this jam is def
    Most definitely created by me
    Goin' down in radio history
I'm good to go on your radio
And I'm cold gettin' paid cos Rick said so.

    LL Cool J, 1985

    or these:

Me and my Adidas do the illest things
we like to stomp out pimps with diamond rings
we slay all suckers who perpetrate
and lay down law from state to state
we travel on gravel, dirt road or street
I wear my Adidas when I rock the beat
on stage, front page, every show I go
it's Adidas on my feet, high top or low.

    RUN-DMC, 1984

Truth is, there have always been some rappers who have a message and some who just want to rock the party. Paul Wall is the latter. Nothing to be ashamed of.
