Ensberg had 4 throwing errors in 3 games in Round Rock. This should be the lineup if Ensberg comes back healthy and Berkman also. 2B-Craig Biggio 1B-Mike Lamb LF-Lance Berkman 3B-Morgan Ensberg RF-Aubrey Huff CF-Luke Scott SS-Adam Everett C-Brad Ausmus Like to see Burke get a chance at short but don't see it happening. Like Munson to get more starts but not don't see it happening. Like Preston Wilson to get benched but don't see it happening. Luke Scott has to be in the lineup.
I don't think Luke Scott can play CF.....put Burke in CF, Scott in LF, and Berkman in RF...Huff sits....or rotates in all over the place. DD
The question is...Who goes when Mo is activated? I say it has to be Orlando Palmeiro. I'd rather Jason Lane remain on the bench than to keep OP. I know the timing would be nothing short of horrible seeing as though he's currently on Berevement Leave due to the death of his father. But, he's been terrible this season. He's hitting in the mid .150's as a pinch hitter, even after getting in a record 16 straight games as a ph. He brings no power, mediocre defense, and he's lost whatever it was that made him pretty clutch last season. You have to leave Luke Scott up. He's hitting very well so far. Lane can't possibly do any more in the minors (although, a 5 strikout game doesn't exactly help his case). Maybe they can put OP through waivers and trade him for a minor minor leaguer.
a couple of weeks? the astros, and their fans, have every right to be peeved with ensberg. and we have every right to be peeved at the astros for dragging ass on this. he may have very well sunk their season wasting everyone's time for five weeks. if he'd gone on the DL a week after hurting his shoulder, or even two weeks (approximately june 23, or so), he would have been back, easily, at the break. and then, coming out of it, we could have added his healthy bat and huff's and been painting a much different picture of this season. instead, he goes on the DL at the break and here we are, three weeks later, with no idea what we're going to get out of him. if berkman so much as shags flies in the OF, garner should be fired on the spot. lamb is exactly what we need off the bench. let wilson and scott platoon in left(wilson kills LH'ed pitching), stick huff in RF, ensberg plays 3B. berkman is now, and forever, the 1B.
Willy T needs to play. He is getting on base again and creating havoc on the bases. He was a vital part of our team last year and I believe Garner will play him.
Just to clarify...in 3 games at RR Ensberg line was as follows: 6-12, 2 Runs, 2 doubles, 2 hr, 7 RBIs, 3 walks, 1 so and a 1.167 OPS Yeah, its AAA, but still, he's looking pretty good. I say inject him into the lineup tonight. Get him in there right away and lets see what he can do; move Huff to the outfield or 1st base (if Berkman's still sore). Gotta find a place for Scott though cause he's been hitting well lately. I'd be inclined to move Preston and/or Huff to the bench but I doubt that'll happen. Or how bout this... Ensberg, Everett, Biggio, Berkman, Ausmus, Wilson (cf), Huff (lf) and Scot (rf).
It wouldn't even be a question if any of the guys we are talking about could play a decent SS......that would solve a lot of issues. DD
Four errors in three games sends a signal to me that the shoulder's still bothering him. That's what the Express' manager told the Austin paper, also. Hopefully it was just rust.
