You know the funny thing is people are saying the Rockets won't get to the playoffs because they don't have a center, yet Phoenix consistently gets to the playoffs without a dominant center OR PF! And I think our frontcourt is better then Phoenix's last year. Also, Sacramento basically has Webber and Pollard, and a soft Divac. And other then Garnett who does Minnesota have that is a dominant big man? Joe Smith? LaPhonso Ellis? Dean Garrett!? What about Utah, aside from Karl Malone who did Utah have? They added Donyell Marshall last year, but they were getting to the playoffs BEFORE he showed up! With the addition of Griffin, Mo fitting in more, and picking up a serviceable big man or two, I think this team will win between 50 and 52 games.
The problem is not necessarily about having good center or front court. It is the fact the rockets have terrible defenders and we need an enforcer to backup all our other players when they get burned. Dream changed shots even when he wasn't playing well. We have no one to do that now. That is why I don't believe Marc Jackson is the answer. I say we will win 48-50 games and be the 7th or 8th seed.
The thing is Phoenix didn't have any good front court defenders, and Sacramento didn't either, they play good team defense, and that is the key to this team's success. Learning to play defense consistently. They have the talent to play defense, they just have to the dedication to do so.

It says something when 48-50 wins is still 7th or 8th seed nowadays. Remember when we went I think 41-41 several years back, and still made the playoffs?
