I know it's early but what do you guys think we should do about replacing Barkley. If we keep Cato at the centre then we don't really have a pf.

What about Rodman? now Barkley is gone he might be our best option.

    Any other suggestions?

Maybe G.S. would trade us A.Jamison he's got some game, and we're gonna need someone to draw a double team.

Kelvin Cato looked like he saw ghost tonight...man he was outta-of-it. God if Kelvin Cato could play with the fire and emotion of Charles Barkley...but it probably never will. What happenn to all the emotion and fire he was showing during the first to preaeason games? I remember him spitting and slobering all over the court during the Sonics game, then had a triple double with 12blocks the next game. All of sudden he has to be the worst rebounding center in the leauge.

This may be kinda silly to say, but if Kelvin Cato would of never left his feet to block the jumpshot by tyrone Hill, Charles Barkley would still be playing.

You will never be able to replace Charles Barkley, just like the Bulls will never be able to replace Jordan.

I'm not for a trade that would take Cuttino or more than one of our other new young players. I'm for getting the best they can from the CBA or a vet that isn't playing somewhere if there are any.

We finally have good guards. Let's not mess with that - it's too hard to get them.

Anyone know who is out there that is not with another team?

    frankly, who cares?

I don't want to bash anybody on the site, but who cares what happens to the team right now? One of the greatest players of all-time has just gone down before our eyes, and this is a time for mourning. Basketball comes second to things sometimes.

    Cabbage,

True, but the season does not stop for anyone.

I say put Kenny Thomas in there and let's see what we have got.

I feel so sorry for the chuckster. You feel for him a lot! He showed us that he was willing to carry this team into the playoffs and then this FREAK accident occurs and ends it all. I don't think all is lost. You definately cannot "replace" a player of barkley's caliber. Our big guys are out for some time (hakeem and Tony). I say just start Kenny Thomas at the PF. he has showed us that he has some game and can shoot the long ball as well. I think he's a pretty decent shooter and hustles. I think we still need to have Rodgers come of the bench for energy though. I don't know who else is availible at the PF out there. I would love to have jamison but we'd have to give a lot up. I hope when Dream comes back he'll have some fire and determination like Sir Charles had. what do you think?

    I'd start with Carlos Rogers.

    Cabbage,

I feel bad for Barkley but I don't know if I would call it mourning. I'm sure Barkley will come out tomorrow tell everyone about what a great career he's had and that he's the last person we should have pity for.

It will be the ol "I'm the luckiest man in whole world" sortof speach. In Barkley's case, it's true. He has a great mind, a great life, and had a Hall of Fame NBA career. Playing this year was not going to change anything.

To look at it another way, wouldn't you like to get $9 million while rehabing and playing golf?
