Everyone with a 360 notice how quiet it's been, games wise? To be fair, summer usually is that way anyway. In any case, I thought some of you guys would like a little heads up on a game that looks like it may be pretty good - and hasn't got much hype outside of game sites. Dead Rising is a somewhat open-ended 'sandbox' type game that takes place in a huge (think "Mall of the Americas" or whatever) mall. The town has been shut down because of a zombie infestation, though the general public doesn't know why. You play a reporter/photographer who looks to investigate what happened, and manages to sneak into town by being dropped off at the mall. Why should it be fun? Lots of zombie killing, huge mall with stores that you can enter - just about everything you find can be used as a weapon of some sort. There are survivors hidden throughout the mall you can save and other little side missions. Screenshots are nice, but the videos really give a better idea of what you do: http://youtube.com/watch?v=u5w_9_rpvgg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16Pm06vPyZM&NR http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mfu8At165HQ&mode=related&search= http://youtube.com/watch?v=D1YJ2DTWmi4&mode=related&search= So anyway, this is the first 360 game I'll probably buy full price since I got the system with Oblivion and GRAW back in May, so I thought you guys would like the info. I hope the final game turns out well.
ncaa 2006 is occupying my time. plus all these cool downloads from xbox live. ive been playing CoD2 online lately.
You mean the original? IMO it did, for the first couple of years I found nothing interesting that I wanted to play, beyond Halo and Splinter Cell. That changed the last few, though. I found I played the XBOX more than my other systems near the end. After this Fall, I'd say the 360 looks like it has a stronger library after its first year than the original XBOX did.
I just picked up a 360 this weekend, and it's great! Traded in my old gen 1 with all the games/access. Picked up a premium, vga connection, and the 1 year insurance from game fixx. I have Table Tennis and NBA 2K6 for it right now. Any other game recommendations (i plan to pick up NCAA Football)?
Table Tennis is actually a lot of fun on Live. I'd consider the top 3 games right now: CoD2 Oblivion GRAW Madden will be in toward the end of the month. There's also this GTA-type game called Saints Row. I didn't think much of it until I played the demo, and it was a lot of fun. Like GTA with better graphics, controls and physics. That's also this month. ALSO: I believe I heard you can get PGR3 on outpost for $20 bucks right now.
An extremely involved and time-draining RPG. Very fun, however. I don't even like RPGs that much, but I liked this one.
NBA 2K 6 Fight Night 3 Fifa - WORLD CUP Edition (not the road to the world cup crap) GRAW Oblivion -though I prefer the PC edition. DD
No you only get int'l teams, no club teams. Not a lot of depth and not going to hold your attention for more than a few weeks. Rental.
It is incredible for online play.......which is primarily what I do.....compete in tourneys and in ladder games. DD
Ouch. I don't play soccer games, so I couldn't really recommend them. But I'm sure they are quality (particularly when it comes to multiplayer)
I've had my eye on Dead Rising for a while. Find the video previews and you'll see how awesomely funny some of the things are. You can use anything as a weapon. Walk into a pottery shop? Grab huge pots and slam them on the head of the zombies. In a hardware store? Anything from chainsaws to scythes, etc. I think you can even beat them with their own arms or something. Woot.
