I have had enough, I would rather ride the horse that brought me...sit the team down, say, we are NOT going to trade anyone, we believe in you....now go and get it done !!!

Put Ensberg back at 3B, start Berkman at 1B, Huff in RF, Burke in Center, Scott/Wilson in Left and go with it.

Have Lamb spell both 3b and 1b....and let's see what happens.

Tell Lidge to quit being a candy ass, and start throwing inside and backing those players off the plate...they are too comfortable in there against his 97mph heat.....get a little wild.......

    And.....let's rock !

i agree....lamb can even play a decent 2b on biggios days off to get even more hitting in the lineup...if our pitiching performs like it is capable of doing, we can make a strong push for the wild card without adding a bat in the lineup...lets go STROS!!!

Trade Lidge for a good catcher prospect and wait till next year.

Well Soriano's not going to take Everett or Ausmus out of the lineup.

The trade talk hasn't hurt the astros cause they sucked all year, even when trade talks weren't happening. I hope we get Soriano because if not we aren't going anywhere this season.

Thats not going to work DADA...Lidge has just lost it..Do you really think a pep talk is going to get the Astros going ? I mean do you really think that if you tell those guys what you said that Lidge will all of a sudden go " oh okay now I can dominate again," and Everette, Ensberg and the gang are gonna start hitting just because they got a pep talk ? Sorry to Disagree with you but we need to really shake things up so we need Soriano or Tejada...

Seems like it has helped Everett a little.

DD. . . Totally with you. With Roy coming up tonight in trade talks, its over. Don't trade anybody. I don't want some stinking, b*itching high paid hitter who's gonna bail on us in the future.

You guys wanna shake things up, shake it up from the inside out. Send lidge down to AAA. Move the outfield around. Bench Wilson. Bring up some young pitching. Send springer somewhere not on the field. Bring Brad A into the dougout to call every pitch, but don't let him step on the field. Play who's hot, who's not (garner of last year). Talk to Baggy . . . see if he wants to try to heave a ball across the infield again . . . or super pinch hitter (to cycle through the pitchers when they come up to bat).

Move Roger out of the rotation and into long relief/closing . . . Go with a 4 man pitching rotation. Let the MAN show the kids how it's done. We need to send the message that pitchers need to be ready to pitch whenever needed (see Andy the other night).

It is to $$$ to be buying this year. Let these guys play for thier positions. If they continue to stink it up, send em down. I still don't get how our minor leagues are full of guys that are doing well, yet the big team continues to struggle.

It looks like the stros are playing Gundyball out there. Jeeze.

Well said. What's the point of mortgaging the future for a fleeting chance at the postseason this year. It's still possible to be sure, but I'd rather stick to the guns we have than to gut the team for a bat that may not even help. And whatever happens I'll be glad when the trade deadline passes, because the players still on the team can settle down and just focus on winning, without worrying about all those rumours floating around.

I just think going up to the team and saying "Yes, we had a tough beginning, now...let's get serious.

Lidge's problem is that he grooves too many fastballs, he needs to get wild with it.......do a little head hunting, toss one behind a hitter...don't let them get comfortable in there against him.

He needs an offspeed pitch, but barring that, losing his control or the illusion that he is losing his control would help him a ton.

Did you see the two run homer yesterday? It was so up and in it almost looked like the guy was getting out of the way.

You don't win every year and we did win last year. I think this season is past the famous R.I.P. point from last year. I wouldn't be giving up anything for temporary help. The Astros will have soooo much money coming off the books in the next two years , they should be real players in the FA market.

Football is about to get going anyway.

And, basketball is only 2 months away too......RIP Houston.....

Get a picture of McLane in a Bikini and tear off a piece of it for each win....then start playing Wild thing whenever Lidge comes in to pitch, and let Willy (Mayes Hayes) Taverez steal bases......and you are good to go....now if you can just get Mo (Dorn) Ensberg to play a consistent 3B you are good.

Well, we won't have to worry about the trade talk hurting this team once the trading deadline passes at 3pm.

Hopefully Purpura is able to get something done to improve this team. Let's all just hope we don't get a rent-a-player.

uh, yeah...This season is lost...There are far too many teams that are decent to good and after this, we will definitely lose our focus...

Yeah, because the Astros were playing so well before all the trade talk.

Jesus can hit a curve ball, can't he? What would the Astros have to give up to get him?

I would just stand pat, and go to the guys and say "Ok, you have made your bed, now what are you going to do?"
