sup yall... been following this Hakeem situation real closely here in LA. I really think that with the addition of DREAM, Toronto has a good chance of going to the Finals next year. As you may recall, the Raptors came within one basket of the Finals last year, without a legitimate center. Now, with the addition of DREAM, they're my pick to go from the East. I'll forever be a Rockets fan, and I will forever be a fan of DREAM. Therefore, although I am extremely sad to see him go, I'm happy that he has the chance to go for another ring. Thanks for everything, DREAM! You will be missed...

I imagine I will eventually get over this incredible turn of events. I never thought he would leave Houston. After the pain subsides, I will be rooting for a Rocket-Raptor Finals.

The Raptors were one bucket away from the Eastern Conference Finals.

glad to have you on board witness

for future reference, i believe threads like this belong in the nba dish forum.

like you, though, i will be keeping a close eye on the raptors and i think they will be very good next year.

Question: how far has lenny wilkens gone in the playoffs? if i remember correctly, he was part of the 77 (or 78 or some late 70) Seattle team. How would you guys rank Wilkens today as a coach?

I still think that Philly and Milwaukee have the inside track, along with Charlotte who can match size with Toronto and are more athletic then the Raptors. I think Orlando will make a serious challenge for the East next year, and New York has some good size, speed, and quality go-to guys. Toronto has their work cut out for them, the East will be tough, and they came within one basket of the East Finals.

I feel the same way witness. There are no quality centers in the east. Hakeem's gonna have a field day on all of 'em including Mutombo. There be less stress and hence less injuries if any at all....not too mention the new motivation he'll have. I think he'll have a good year (20pts/9reb/3blocks) and surprise everyone. I'm just pissed that this could not happen in Houston. Vince et al will make the finals next year.
