According to supreme evil agent Dan Fegan, the Rockets and Norris are FAR apart on numbers (read: money) in terms of signing Norris. Apparently, Fegan wants more for Anderson as well.

WTF is going on with this idiot???

    Jeff-
That is bad news, but I think Satan now realizes that we have extra cap room since we don't have Dream and he is trying to take advantage of this for Moochie & SA.
This whole situation is getting worse and worse, maybe the conspiatists were correct when they said Satan wanted Dream out to get more $$$ for SA & Moochie.

Fegan is really making me mad! Somehow this guy is trying to singlehandedly dismantle the whole Rockets team.

Maybe the Rockets were closer to a Championship team than we thought and the Lakers are paying Fegan to sabotage the team.

Think about it, no matter how much you might not like Shaq, he has always had utmost respect for Hakeem. Maybe he was having '95 flashbacks, got scared, and told Fegan to mess things up. The Laker mgt. is now trying to take away as many players as possible, to for a safety cushion. ;)

Fegan's acting as if he has some personal grudge against Houston. Seriously, there isn't that much of a market for Moochie, elsewhere. How much can Fegan really expect?

If Fegan's not careful, he's going to be blackballed by more NBA teams. Utah already has refused to deal with him, from what I understand.

    Chuckie,

Of course the "conspiatists" are right. That is his whole intention. He knows SA and Moochie (and Taylor) are more valued on this team than Hakeem (ration of production to $$$)
He totally took advantage of the Hakeem situation.

In 5-10 years when people stop watching basketball because it has turned into a money hungry sport like baseball, you can thank people like Fagen.

IMO, every team should boycott him ... regardless of the player. Let them know that if they want to negotiate with the team, find a new agent.

And it's almost like Hakeem purposely chose Fagen to give us hell, knowing all alone he wouldn't be here!!:(

    Here's a guess:

The Rockets have offered Moochie $1.5 - $2.5 million and they want $4 million per season. Just a guess, but that would be pretty far off. They could get an exception from someplace like Dallas meaning $4.5 million.

As for Anderson, I'm sure they are going to want the max Bird contract and the Rockets probably want a little less than that.

    Whatever.

I do think that negotations were probably severly hampered by the Hakeem thing. If Fegan screws up the whole team based on his idiocy... GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

That'd be cute if the Rockets didn't pursue Webber and still got burned by all of their own FAs.

I hate to say these words (with Moochie involved).

BUT LET THEM WALK!!!!!! Anderson is a"0" factor in the Rockets future (except for defense) and Moochie is a very likable guy, but he can be replaced. Some on this board have praised him (as a spark plug off the bench) but you cannot compare him to what Cuttino & Sam Cassell gave the Rockets as 6th men. They were very consistent with their numbers. Moochie did have a few great games, but he also ran in alot of circles, coughed up balls, and did not seem to pass the ball to well on a break!!

I think Moochie is a great person, but this is starting to get crazy with Feagan. If we pay Anderson over 5 million a year (as a bench player) and Moochie 2-4 million (?), then we could of paid Hakeem 6-7 million a year and dumped both of them. IF THERE WAS A POLL ON WHO YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE: Hakeem or Anderson/Moochie, I think the majority would rather have Hakeem.

Fegan sucks man. Not only does he take away a piece of Houston, but now he's taking away the fro! Man this guy is starting to piss me off. I could understand if one player makes a monumental decision, but when other players with the same agent start giving negotiation problems somethings wrong with the picture.

If Mooch leaves I will add a new member to my $hit list.

Move over karl and bill kennedy, make room for dan.

MoTay is a much more important signing than Mooch or Shandon. Of the three, Mooch probably has the least market value. Who is going to sign Moochie to the mid-level exception?

From a bargaining position, Moochie has to pretty much take what he is given. If he doesn't, he may well be not playiny in the NBA next year. His call.

We cannot, CANNOT afford to lose Moochie. Next to Steve Francis, Moochie was the one guy who playing his guts out night-in and night.

Kelvin Cato is a bust -- LET HIM GO!!

Shandon Anderson -- nice guy, but he didn't put out on the court last year. Probably because of his Mom dying. But there's no guarantee he will be a force with the Rockets this year -- LET HIM GO!!

Maurice Taylor -- the player I was most disappointed with last year. Slow as molasses and could not rebound if his life depended on it. Even Bullard did a better rebounding job. MoTay was the biggest underachiever last year -- LET HIM GO!!

If Moochie leaves because of Mr. Evil Incarnate, I will be one angry white man!

 The agent is the mastermind behind the process. Apparently, he sees the the Rockets are desperate to sign their free agents now. So he is going to try to get as much $$ as possible for his clients (Moochie and SA). IMO, Moochie is a nice addition of the bench; however he should not be paid $3/year.
Also, SA, how exactly does he fit into the mix?

Don't give them anything. Trust me, they will not be the difference between the rockets going to the playoffs or not. We should have let them go and kept Dream. I would like to keep Moochie but 4 million is too much especially after the crappy initial offer we gave Dream. Shandon plays good D but not worth more than Cata. I will forever see him as the former Jazz that caused us to lose Dream.
