I'm moving to Barcelona, Spain on September 4th. I have absolutely no idea how I can catch Rockets games in Spain. I don't know if NBA tv is available or if I'll need to watch the games online - if there are sports bars in which I could watch the games, etc etc. I was hoping somebody could help me out because, perhaps sadly, this is pretty much my only reservation about moving. I usually watch every single game of the season and I'm terrified I'm going to miss even a few games. Does anybody know how I can catch games there?
Not sure about how to catch games, but my experience was that the time difference wrecks havoc with trying to watch NBA or MLB games. NFL is ok though.
You will miss many. They'll show NBA games fairly regularly once the season starts (if it's Spain, I'm guessing they're on Canal+, not sure though) but they'll be on tape delay. Canal+ is a premium channel so you'll have to pay extra or go to a bar/restau that gets it. My advice: start following soccer, and get a good internet connection so you can DL rox games/highlights if you need to.
http://www.streamtvnow.tv They stream almost every rockets game live online. Costs 3 euros a month and is a steal considering they telecast all major American sports.
Does anyone dl R2k's uploads of entire games if they don't have access at all to it? Then watches it as if was live? I don't think I have the discipline to avoid finding out the final scores or highlights to do that.
ditto for me swilkins, I thought he was doing a "b*tching about the b*tching" thread like in the Feedback... Or maybe that he was so addicted he needed help to stop from being out of control...
Well there's Chinese streaming software like PPlive, PPstream, TVKoo etc. There'll probably be threads about it all the time detailing how to get hooked up and what channel to go to, like last year. I caught about 80% of the games last year like that. And it would have been more if the Chinese stations didn't start dropping games while Yao was injured. Also www.mysynergysports.com is a new site that might offer streaming games as well as specific video breakdowns for every player and team. They had a beta trial during the playoff, but the streaming part didn't really work. But the video and stat breakdowns were incredible. It was so easy to scout out a player with that service. They're partnered with the NBA, so it's legit, and they said that they might offer it for about $10 bucks a month. I'd consider getting it just for the stats and video breakdown. If they do streaming games as well, then it'll be a slam dunk.
Thanks for the help. I'm definitely going to have to figure out ways to watch the games even if it's having my brother video tape them and send them to me! As for taking up an interest in soccer - I don't even know that I'm really a basketball fan. I'm a born and raised Rockets fan. Anytime I'm watching basketball outside of Rockets games it's for Rockets related reasons. Maybe I'm watching college games to see if there are any players the Rockets may be interested in picking up or I'm watching other NBA games to see how the Rockets are stacking up. I could basically give a damn less about sports. I just love the Rockets. It's Rockets or nothing for me!
Why the fudge are you moving to Spain JMW? Work related? Meet a hottie on the Net? Move to Australia mate, no one works here and instead of cybersex we have real women... mostly...
Is the streaming good? Good quality? I mght try it then, Sine i no longer have canal+. jmwilliamson Barcelona is a nice city, i loved it the times i went there. And FC Bracelona is great(ofcourse they have a lot of dutch influence)
You will enjoy FC Barcelona a lot more than the Rockets... Lucky you will be able to go to the games.
