Straight to the clinic for you. Were you Floyd Landis' supplier? :D

We still need the minute sucker at the 4 or his coach to leave (or have a brain transplant).

Ryan Bowen, Deke, and Juwan Howard plus part of the trade exception for Elton Brand. I know you say it's never gonna happen and this is a preposterous trade but hear me out. It works for us because we get the 3rd scoring option and the PF we always dreamed of. But it also works for the Clippers because it gets them back to the lottery and they have a shot at Greg Ogden. WIth Ogden they are a legitimate championship contender in 5 years. Plus everyone know how Donald sterling hates paying out Max money and this way he can dump salary and stay under the luxury tax. I know you can't combine the TE but I know David Stern's mother. And I am sure I can sweet talk her into convincing her son this one time. I might have to pull out her false teeth and suck on her gums but it will be worth it. I just did it in Real GM and it works.

And if for some odd reason the clippers don't bite I also have a deal involving Vernon Maxwell and Billy (The Whopper) Paultz for Lebron.

Battier doesn't need to create his own shot.He will be (3rd option) feeding off Yao and TMac draining wide open J's.

Hey. I like your vibe. I just needed to work in a shot at Floyd. Still think  needs to go so SB can play the 4. Then I will get excited.

The success or failure of this off season cannot be assessed in the Regular Season.
[unless of course they fail to make the playoffs]

If we do not make the 2nd round. This season is a bust

We're locked out of the top 4 seeds (since we won't finish with a better record than SAS or DAL), which means we almost have to land in the 5th spot if we want a decent chance of advancing. Otherwise, we'd be facing SAS, DAL, or PHO.

As a 5th seed, we'd probably be facing the NW division winner. They don't worry me.

Is this seeding rule change official? I mean the top 4 seeds will be decided by record?

I think Battier can score some points for us. Possibly 3rd most on the team 12-16ppg). IMO he's a scorer that feeds off of others though, not a go to scorer.

(How come so many (americans?) use the wrong word when there are words that sound alike? won-one are-our etc. I see it all the time here on the forum.)

Email and advertising. Many can't distinguish between Miller Lite and a light. Some (not all) are just lazy when it comes to thinking about writing.

However, your gonna get in trouble if their is a discussion of grammer on a message board. The porpoise of a board is not to use well English, but to discuss and argue about basketball. If you use the write grammer and word choice, you're efforts won't be recognized.

Everyone's got their own indivisibles when it comes to writing- just B-cause you can write good dosen't mean we're going to praise you or put you up on a pedicure.

That being said, Battier is probably a 4th best option. Somewhere between McYao and S-Bat is our 3rd option.

Battier is a player we will come to embace for what he will bring, but he is not a third scoring option and we do not have enough to win it all and we are not there, yet, as we still need a tough, bruising, in-the-paint, around-the- basket PF/Back-Up Center and another Ariza type player.

A more precise definition of "option" is needed for this discussion. To me, an option is a guy who you can give the ball to and either depend on him to score or create an opportunity for others.

The problem last year, to me, wasn't a lack guys who could do that. The problem seems to be a lack of guys who could space the floor and knock down 3.

Juwan can give you 17 points on 45% shooting if you give him the ball 15 times going one on one. Not highly efficient, but how many "third options" really are when it comes to one-on-one scoring without the help of the stars?

Rafer Alston got into the paint fairly well. His main skill wasn't finishing at the rim, but penetrating and dishing, but on a game to game basis, there weren't enough shooting to convert off his passing. So he often forced the issue and made mistakes.

When the opposing team could constantly afford to put heavy attention on your offense initiator, even your first option is rendered less effective, let along 3rd options. Look at what the Clips did to Carmelo Anthony in the playoffs... no shooter=paint packing=33% FG for Melo.

(Also, lets not forget that the Rockets defense were not as good as it could have been, especially on the perimeter... Van Guny packed the paint, worked against teams who can't shoot, but that team didn't have enough quickness, size, and probably smarts to recover and rotate to handle good shooting teams like PHX and DAL. )

This whole "third option" idea is probably overrrated. The Rockets needed more shooters and garbage guys as well as good defenders with size and quickness.

If Juwan is our 3rd leading scorer this next season then we are headed for a 45 win mediocre season. I do not expect that to happen. Battier should clearly be either the 3rd or 4th leading scorer depending on what other moves we make this offeason and the development of Snyder. I really expect Battier to give us around 15 ppg and Snyder around 11. That's a base of 76 points to work from if you write 111 down for 50 a game. Rafer chips in 8, V-Span 4, Novak 3, Hayes 2, plus Head/Howard 7 and we are at 100 ppg, which should be where we are at given the potency of 111 and Van Gundy's defensive grinding style.

I would keep chuck unless hes in a package that would make our team very diffrent in a good way.

The guy has a nose for the ball and if he comes off the bench he can grab some big rebs.

I agree- what we needed last season were: a) healthy players b) role players. We have them now in spades.
