It doesn't really matter we have no one they would like.

We have a 4.2 million trade exception we will give them.

Why not rape them like Utah did to us for Glen Rice.

That was one of the sorriest trades of all time. It had absolutely nothing to do with making the team better. It was all just about saving a buck.

You're probably the most underrated poster on this board.

Looks like Bonzi and his agent overestimated how much his playoff spurt would drive up his value. After 8 NBA seasons, teams have a good idea of what a player can do and, at best, Bonzi is worth about 14pts/8rebs for 2-3 more years. He turns 30 later this year.

He may be forced to accept an MLE from somebody after all.

I doubt it. Bonzi will probably settle for an MLE than our TE. Damn, I wish Moochie was worth more than 5 million when we traded him so that now we'd have a 5 million TE with maximum increases.

The Rockets traded Rice to the Utah Jazz for John Amaechi and future draft considerations or something like that. They then picked up Jim Jackson. I think Rice played one more season in the NBA.

Actually, he only played 18 more games and was paid over 9 million dollars. But yeah, that was a bad deal.

Isn't this the type of player JVG is looking for?

Not as bad as the Hawks trading Boris Diaw and two--yes, TWO!--first round picks to Phoenix for Joe Johnson. Regardless of how good Diaw turned out to be, that was perhaps the most UNNECESSARY trade in NBA history. The Hawks' proposed offer sheet had front-loaded Johnson's contract to pay him about $20M in the first year. Given how cash-strapped Phoenix was and still is (as evidenced by them SELLING their two first rounders in this year's draft), there was never any way that Phoenix would have matched Atlanta's offer sheet. I remember that this trade was held up because Steve Belkin (the Hawks' minority owner but representative on the NBA's board of governors?) opposed making such a stupid trade. After some quick litigation, he was shot down and the Hawks did the unthinkable: mortgage their future for something they could have gotten for free!

T-Mac, Bonzi and Rafer.... would there ever be a reason for a defender to go out to the three-point line against the Rockets ever again?

You are so right! I love Billy Knight from his Pacer days but he is one sorry GM!

Um... Glen Rice did nothing after that trade. It saved the Rockets $9 million. How is that bad?

You do realize who's picks those are and the protection of it, right?

The Suns very much could be getting a premiere pick in next years amazing draft class.
