    News people crack me up.

Did I just hear on Ch. 13 the anchor ask the reporter if I-10 at Beltway construction is cause of flooding?

Yes, they're adding lanes cause of flooding

Katy is pretty bad right now. It doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. My mom's car was flooded this morning, she had to walk away from it in water up to her waist. We found out from the guys at the auto shop a few minutes ago that it's totaled. :(

Jesus, this isn't rocket science. I'm RIGHT BEHIND the slowpoke, so if that person ahead of me (with several car lengths of nothing in front of them) slows down for a puddle, I will know WHY they slowed down, since I will hit the puddle myself in 3-4 seconds time (being about 1.5 car lengths behind them). If they slow down for NOTHING, then I will also know, having NOT hit any rough patches on the road. I therefore used my Ivy League education, Newton's Laws of Motion, and my own astute powers of deduction, honed from reading several "Encyclopedia Brown" books as a child, to conclude that the dumbass in front of me was randomly putting on his/her brakes for no real reason, thus making conditions unsafe for everyone else around them. Okay?

it's still not as good as a puddle-locator.

Just because there wasn't a puddle at that time, doesn't mean there could not have been one. I don't fault anyone for driving with caution in weather like this. Sorry you do.

There's also an 80% chance of a Rocketman95/VesceySux pissing match.

Texas is so crazy... we're in the middle of a drought in the DFW area... it hardly ever rains here now.

Look Dude. It is evident that you have never hydroplaned before, come back and talk to us when you have. You'll change the way your drive in the rain if you have. I press my brakes when I see a puddle to be safe. I've hydroplaned before and ended up in a bad accident, very scary.
