I don't know, but I can tell you that I've been saying we should get him since...before last season began. great rebounder @ the 2, great defender as well. if tmac went out, a starting lineup alston / wells / battier / howard / yao should still win most games.

I can't say I have nearly as much faith in a starting lineup of alston / snyder / battier / howard / yao.

Good luck getting that. besides the hawks, who is gonna offer him that. the hawks allready have a far, far superior SG in JJ. he'll have to settel for less(MLE).. i heard he agreed to terms with the Wizards.

Besides not having much/anything to offer in return. Sac will probably only consider a S&T if he's headed East.

    It's totally his chance.

Obviously we don't have a way to pay him other than a sign and trade. You know, the thing that can't happen because Juwan isn't worth the cost of flying him to the games.

How can us not being able to get Bonzi be blamed on management?

    No.

thats it, end of story. We dont have the pieces to make a trade that Sacto would like, and a contract big enough for Wells. He wont play for the money we have. Many teams still have their full MLE.

    That is all.

    No.

doesn't atlanta have a huge trade exemption from the harrington to indiana trade? couldn't we 3 way bonzi from sacto to atlanta via 7mil TE, then to houston, with a longterm deal? obviously head and 2 second round picks (or even an 07 first rounder) would probably have to be thrown in, but this is a steal if we could get him...

if my capology reasoning is wrong please inform

No, but i raised this same point and got crushed. It will be a possibilty because of the fact other than a sign-and-trade he has no where to go that will drop the price.

With no state income tax, is the TE comparable to the MLE from teams outside of Texas?

I'm too lazy to calculate it, but yes, it's comparable for 2 reasons:

    1) Tax thing.
    2) MLE would have 8.5% raises, while a sign and trade with TE would have 10.5%.

I say we deal Juwan Howard, Luther Head and cash to Atlanta for a throw in and a TE, which we would use in a sign and trade for Bonzi Wells.

The whole thing is very far fetched, and quite honestly, not worth the effort considering we have T-Mac, Battier and Snyder already, with Sura giving it another shot as well.

One good thing about this: We can offset a poor rebounder at PF (Battier) with an unbelievable rebounder at the 2 (Wells), and we'd be the biggest mismatch nightmare in the league, around two superstars.

Bonzi ... a Rocket? Would be great ... but I don 't think so!
He is too expansive for the Rockets and JVG doesn 't like Bonzi, because he 's too offensive minded as a SG. If we had an other coach, Bonzi would be a great Rocket ... if we had an other coach!

    Bonzi can't shoot.

Now, I'm not one of those guys that wants to surround 111 with a bunch of pure-shooting stiffs, but we need guys that at least shoot a decent clip(35%+) from outside.

Last season, Bonzi shot 22% from outside. 22%!

It would be awesome if we could get Bonzi, though I think it's has no chance of happening.I we somehow land him,I will be freakin' thrilled!!!
It's a fantasy dream, but just immagine our starting lineup!!!
    Yao
    Battier
    T-Mac
    Wells
    skip
Wow!!!We would be instant WC champions!!!!
    But,keep dreamin',there's no chance
