Bonzi is a near-All Star on both ends of the court when he's focused and going at it, but he's a notorious coach killer at this point, and I'd have to believe JVG wants nothing to do with him, no matter how desperate we are at the moment.

Denver would make a ton of sense, but if he's taking a paycut, I'd have to believe it'd be in Detroit.

I'd be thrilled if the Rockets got Bonzi.

Don't let his reputation fool you. He's not a coach-killer. He was a model citizen in Sacramento this past year. He was the Kings best player during the first half of the season - until he got sidelined with an injury - and an absolute monster during the playoffs.

He's the best free agent on the market. The Rockets could definitely use a guy capable of going for 25/16 from the shooting guard spot.

If they signed him - it might make me forget the whole Rudy Gay debacle.

really? why is this? I mean, what do you think the Rockets have done that any other nba team hasn't done. And last I checked, the previous good will contract we gave to a player, we made good on the back end (Mo Taylor).

Cuttino was part of a package to bring a better player. If he's crying about that then the boy need's a new job.

MJames ran his mouth that he was opting out to get a pay day so we traded him. If he's got a problem with that, then he needs to check himself. Oh wait, he did! He actually had a problem getting traded and worked something out with a team to make it hard to trade him!

If you want to argue that players don't want to come here because of Van Gundy, the offense, Tmac's health concerns, etc. Those are all valid arguments. But to say that the Rockets have run their organization any differently than any other is wrong.

Mike James was traded before he got to Houston.

Cuttino was traded after he left.

Steve has now been traded again.

And the notion that Stromile settled for less to come here is erroneous. He never received an offer over the MLE. He accepted a contract and Cato'd his way through the first season of it. The organization then made a move on draft night to better the team and he was part of the asking price. There is nothing "bad faith" about how we treated Stromile.

Good faith would be Van Gundy calling New Jersey and getting Padgett a job. Good faith (albeit misguided faith) would be re-signing Ryan Bowen.

If the Kings were only looking for Head plus cap fodder in return for the deal, we could send Head plus Deke (expiring contract), plus Sura, plus $3 million (to cover half of Sura's contract). We could then take back Potapenko ($3.6 million) for the trade exception as a "separate, simultaneous transaction", as additional incentive to the Kings. With the salaries we would send out combined with the 25% rule, we could give Wells a contract starting at up to $9 million per year, more than enough to get him to sign.

Or we could also trade Juwan for Kenny Thomas, which the Kings might do, because KT has 5 years left on his deal, where Juwan only has 3. And we can also throw in a first round pick, too. The point is, the Rockets do have a little bit of flexibility to do this deal if they really want to win now and if they are sold on Bonzi being the missing piece.

Is he worse than Artest? Les went as far as personally talking with Ron Ron last season, surely JVG must have been in on that.

Welcome to the board, Bonzi! ;)

It is interesting how the guy has stayed on the market. He must be getting a bit nervous right now. Bonzi would be a risk, and the Rockets aren't going to get him, but we would be a hell of a team if we did.
