Since not much going on with Rockets, I thought I'd post this. Just saw Hakeem in downtown today, looks like he is back in Houston. I was waiting to talk to him, but he was busy with some other folks, I'm sure ill catch him again this week. Any questions anyone will like to ask if I do see him again (which im almost positive I will)?
Is he younger than Deke? If so, bring him on board. Ask him if he is interested in coaching Yao or any other position with the Rockets.
Was he over by that mosque place in Market Square? If that is the case, I am camping out there tommorow.
I saw him too. He and Yao were riding a tandem around a taco bell filming the new 2 shelled gordita commercial.
I live in Los Angeles and he is my favorite athlete, probably next Ali. Is there any chance you can get an autograph from him on a Rockets hat or picture and I will buy it from you. This would be the greatest thing for me if you can make it happen. If not, just let him know that his play in the WCF in 95 is something that got me hooked on bball and that fans still take about it til this day.
Cool. I'll see what I can do. I do plan on asking him about the changes the Rockets went through this offseason and what he thinks about it. I also want to see what he thinks our chances are going deep in the playoffs.
it's weird, he was practically a family friend for years and now i dont think he and my father or uncles have spoken since 2001 or so. i wonder if they know he's in town...
Im sure he was at a mosque... Where the guy thinks he is guranteed to see him daily... you figure we could sent him to some countries as an international scout... just something to do in his off time to keep him close to basketball and in the rockets organization...
If I'm not mistaken, He lives in Jordan now. I wouldn't doubt that he is back due to saftey concerns in lue of the conflict in that part of the world. I wouldn't blame him either. I've heard that he would love to give Yao some pointers, but everytime he is in town, Yao is over seas. He has been documented as having helped Omeka Okufor on his game last summer.
The Dream would be about as good a coach for Yao as Pat Ewing was. No disrespect but mostly all talent, difficult to teach how they did it.
I have a signed t-shirt from the first championship run, but you would have to pony up a LOT of $$$ for me to give it up.
tell dream to tell les that he wants calvin back on tv cause clyde and bullard are causing him to doze off during the broadcasts and 'dream'.
