I think it's ok for Vince to dunk on Yao early in the game. I bet yao would get very agresssive and dunk on Vince 5 times to return the favor -- unless Vince never dare to stand infront of Yao for the rest of the game.
right now vince is the better player. especially if he stays healthy, but he has his health issues also. but he is shooting better and he attacks the basket which is funny because everyone calls him soft, and he is to some degree, but he is still not afraid to go to the hoop.
Please tell me this is an illusion. You should be banned for such statements. That is 2nd only to blasphemy.
Shooter , they are both streaky and very volume shooters. VC doesn't take the ball to the basket much. He loves to shoot stupid and crazy shots. Health? Throughout their careers, VC has been more prone. I'll add defense. Defense? T-mac easily. Versatlity? You think T-Mac can run point forward on offense and then guard Dirk and not be any more versatile? Age? A fact T-mac's younger. Expierence? T-Mac has about a season more. Success? Carter has more, but in terms of individual success T-Mac has more. I don't see how you can think Vince Carter is the better all-around player than Tracy McGrady.
I didn't say he was an all around better player. I said he was a better shooter, which the numbers don't lie. carter isn't a volume shooter. he has a good percentage for a guard. and he does still take the ball to the basket. but he shoots a lot of jump shots because he's a very reliable jump shooter. edit: I guess I did say he was a better player, but I didn't mean to imply that he has a better all around game.
He's only a better shooter by percentage. But have you ever noticed that McGrady fires up the toughest shots in the league, even tougher than Kobe. His range(not accuracy or percentage) is only matched by Gilbert Arenas and Ray Allen. Who else fires up 30ft 3's? When he's on, he's the most unstoppable force in the league and miracles may happen(13 in 35, with 3 impossible shots in the face of the Spurs D, and an easy game winner) In fact, when he scored 62, he dropped a 3/4 court shot that should've counted and the foul. I'm just saying that if they both attempt the same shots at the same degree, McGrady wins this easily.
When T-MAC is healthy he is at a whole other level than Carter. This could argubly be one of Carters TOP 3 seasons while this is McGradys worst season as an all-star yet McGrady averaged more points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and as well as lesser turnovers. Carter obviously beat McGrady in FG,FT and 3 pt. percentage but you could also take into consideration McGrady's injury problems and personal problems caused part of it but still not an excuse. Career wise McGrady and Carter are almost identical shooters at 44 %. Carter for his career has been a better 3 point shooter but while McGrady has been an all-star and subtracting this season McGrady made at least 102 3's including 2 seasons with over 170 while Carter has made over 160 threes in 1 season. As for driving I agree with you that Carter drove more thsi season but we saw McGrady when healthy against driving everytime ge got the ball. Career wise Carter has attempted more than 500 free-throws three in his carrer while McGrady has done it for every year he has been an all-star excluding this season. Not to mention McGrady is the better rebounder, passer and defender. There was no doubt Carter was better this season but I'd take an 80% McGrady over a fully healthy Carter and when McGrady is fully healthy he is in a whole oter league than Carter.
He's just giving tmac sh*t...That's what families are for...A healthy T-mac vs. a healthy Vince, I'm going T-mac all the way...
