Luther Head for Wayne Simien makes sense to me.

Why don't we sign Pops Mensah-Bonsu(6-9, 240) out of G.W.

He's on the Mav's summer league and playing well but is unlikely to get signed for lack of roster space. He'd be a great fit next to Yao and gives us a good defensive presence at the 4 without needing shots. He's more of a putback and cleanup man and is also very bright academically so he's not a knuckle head.

Sign me up but seriously the Warrior would never do this. I live in the Bay Area and Ellis has shown major star potential. The Warriors are real high on him, if you take out Ellis the Warriors would do this but maybe we can get Andre Owens.

can darius miles play at the 4? if so I wouldnt be that opposed to trading juwan for miles straight up. they wanted our 8th pick before but i think they are itching to get rid of him and CD could convince them. Getting anything for Juwan is a step in the right direction he needs to go but I hope Head stays.

    Actually,

I believe it was Juwan, Head, AND the 8th pick for Miles and the 6th pick.

actually the deal portland offered was the miles along with the 30th and 31st picks for Juwan and the 8th. then houston countered with howard+8th for miles+4th but they turned it down. Head was never a part of the proposed deal. heres the article http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1366 (ohhh you rookie......)

I wanted Simien from the beginning, but I know Miami would laugh at this proposal because they have two big bodies that may not be around much longer in O'Neal and Zo. Simien is all they have as far as a future in the PF dept.

I am haveing a hard time understanding why we get play from the Darius Miles record. It almost sounds like when he still had potential.

This guy is simply an overpaid and underachieving player that believes he should be a go-to guy. He's terrible...He has been in this league long enough to progress to the point that would at least calm the doubters down. But he doesnt even do THAT. I think Miles has reached his pinnacle and has plateaued. He wont get any better than what we see now. He may however begin to decline once he wakes up one mornig and realizes that he aint no good.

I hope we can stop wastin our time on trade props that include this guy even if it means being blessed with the departure of Howard.

Miles' best year was his rookie season (statisticaly). He's a washout player.

Head was included in a deal, but not this one. It was 30,31st, Darius for Juwan + 8, countered for Juwan + 8 for Darius + 4. However, Luther was not supposed to be a Rocket after Draft Night, believe it or not. He was supposed to be a Timberwolve with Randy Foye, while Brandon Roy ends out being a Rocket. Thank Portland for stealing.

I think in you're assessment of the Heat bigs you forgot a dude by the name of Udonis Haslem (their starting PF on a championship team ;) ).

Yes, Simien might be a little tough to pry away but not for the reason you stated. Simien could not crack the starting lineup with UH in the mix. And, I suspect, since UH is, or has re-upped with the Heat that Simien will only be seen as a very strong 7th man type.

So, with the number of old players on their team (including aging guards Payton and White Chocolate), maybe Head plus a future pick could get it done, though the pick might have to be unconditional first, so that's probably asking too much for Simien.

I'm in agreement with a lot of folks who think Murphy could be a GREAT fit on the ROX, but I see no reason at all for GS to trade him to us, unless they give us a salary dump as a poison pill.

We drafted Head before Simien. Why would we trade Head an something else just to get Simien when Simien has done nothing on the court? Makes no sense at all. Miami should be sending us back a future pick with Simien to get Luther. After all, Luther has played and established himself as a rotational player in the league. Simien hasn't even showed he can play yet.

Anyone read news about John Salmons? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2526850

He backed out of a S&T deal with Toronto. Looks like great opportunity for Houston. His numbers aren't great, but he did play all 82 games last year and is still young. Any upside? Isn't he a good defender? I know we have Snyder, but I think Rockets could still use some more size, youth and athleticism at the SG spot.

Philidelphia is stacked up at the G/F position. They seem a thin at the PF spot given Weber's health. They also have a very young roster. Think they'd be interested in a veteran PF(Juwan Howard)?

Yeah, Howard and Webber could run lines during practice and bet with one another on who wins. They would be perfect together.

I would jump on that in a second...Thomas is a totally diffrernt player than when we had him....I was ticked when they got rid of him the first time because he looked like a player who had potential...I would love to have him back but there is no way the kings would do that for Howard...

I would really like to see us get Ronnie Turiaf with our last T.E. When he was given the playing time he was solid in the playoffs againts the suns. He would be great for us at the four he is 6'10, very active on the boards and has a decent shooting touch.
Best of all he is cheap and you (only 23 years old)! He is a young player but has alot of experince he played well with the french national team and 3 years at gonzaga. We need to get this deal done before the season starts, cause i have a feeling if the lakers give this guy more playing this season he is gong to have a break out year and lakers will not be to quik to give him up with out geting something nice back.

LOL. They are both past their primes and overpaid. I was in DC when they were young and played together for the Bullets. Too much temptation to party for Webber. They shipped him off.

If the 76ers dont' want to facilitate that reunion, the Rockets have that large TE. $4.2 million seems close to what Toronto was offering according to the article.
