Me and my wife are trying to plan a vacation since we haven't taken one in a few years. I've started looking into Cabo and wanted to see if anyone here had vacationed there. One of the all inclusive places sounds like a good idea. If anyone has some tips on where to stay and how to find the best deal, let me know! Or if you have any reasons on why we shouldn't go to Cabo and have a better suggestion, let me hear that too!

We're planning to go for either 3 or 4 nights in late August.

The RIU looked like a pretty sweet all inclusive place just outside Cabo San Lucas (where all the nightlife is). We were there a couple of weeks ago at the Melia Cabo Real, not a bad all inclusive, just a little weak on the buffets. We had previously decided against RIU b/c of the price. The nightlife in town was pretty cool, esp El Squid Roe.

A couple we know just got back from Playa del Carmen & stayed at the RIU there. Had great things to say about it.

Sorry, but it's been about 10 years since I've been to Cabo, Harrisment, I got nuthin.

That's funny, Riu is actually the one we've been considering the most.

Bogey - Where do you go to get your trip? Travel agent, Orbitz, Hotwire, etc.? From what I've seen so far Orbitz looks to be the cheapest.

The beautiful thing about having a wife, I didn't have to plan anything. I just showed up and had fun. I think she used Travelocity.

Ok, somebody has to have some more ideas. I wish I could change the thread title, I don't want suggestions limited to just Cabo....I'm looking for any vacation suggestions that aren't crazy expensive.

Never been, but I've heard a lot of good things about Cozumel. If I were taking a significant other somewhere on vacation, that's where I'd go. I've heard that the vacation deals are decent, as well.

Never been to Cabo, but I can also vouch for RIU hotels..the woman and I will be making our second trip to Cancun next month and we stay at Riu Palace.. GREAT resort, the food is better than most cruises I've been on.. I would highly recommend the Riu chain..

I've been to Cozumel a couple times on cruises, it is a fun town. You should check it out sometime.
