Are there any signed players we cannot trade? Can we trade Battier, V-SPAN, JLIII (if signed)? If we can assume that we can trade any player on the roster. Today I heard CD say that he is looking into trades to upgrade the talent. But who and how? Obviously we aren't going to trade Yao and TMAC. I personally think the only assets we have for trade is Battier. After the introduction in the press confrence is he a lock to be a Rocket this coming season? Or is he trade bait? Alston, V-Span, Head, Howard, Hayes, Snyder and others just don't have any significant value. So who do you think is a lock to be on the roster this coming year? I would say that Yao, TMAC, V-Span, Snyder, Battier, Alston are locks to be on the roster. All others are trade bait.
Head and Alston have value. I think we'll use the TE and possibly a pick to aquire someone, so I'm not sure if they will be involved. Considering how thin we are at the 1, Alston probably stays. Head might be moved in a package, if someone were crazy enough to take Howard off our hands, or in another deal. Of course, I'd be amazed if that were to occur. (Howard being moved)
says who?? Rox just can't find buyers to dump tmac, its all about his back, rox's fate is all upon his back.
Oh, come on, even with an injuried superstar like T-Mac, nobody would trade him except for another superstar. Mark my words, Tracy Mcgrady will be back next season.
that is a safe assumption. what is the deal with trade happy people (rookies) on this board. This isn't nba 2k6... frankly i'm happy with all our moves thus far.
Shane Battier will NOT be traded by the Houston Rockets. Period. Unless something spectular comes up, Rafer Alston will not be traded. Les Alexander considers Alston to be a core member of this team. McGrady and Yao - of course not. Outside of those guys, anyone can be had for the right price.
Yao: Untouchable Tmac: Untouchable now Battier: There is no way we will trade him. We abandoned so much to get him here because the management believes Shane is a perfect fit with this team. Aston: He is our number 1 PG, and considering how deep this position is for us, I am not sure we want to trade him. Plus, he is a great passer (his assist number proves it) which makes him an asset to be next to Yao and Tmac. VSpan: I think they will also give a chance for VSpan to prove himself before we try to trade him. Mutumbo: Too old to move his legs to another team Sura: His career is over and he has 0 value for a potential trade Novak: We need size with shooting ability. I have a feeling that he can do great in this team. Management will keep him unless they feel he will suck. (same case as VSpan) Hayes: Great rebounder and attitude and everything the Rockets need. The kid has impressive stats: Ranks #2 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(6.0) Ranks #10 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(10.0) Ranks #3 in the NBA in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(16.1) Ranks #14 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.33) I don't think the Rockets will trade him. JL3: Summer league will give him a spot on the roster. Same case as Novak and Vspan. Rockets will give them a chance Rybo: He does not want to go anywhere and no one wants him Snyder: Tradeble and can be traded Head: Tradeble and can be traded. His stats are not playing in his favor. Especially we have now Vspan and JL3 Howard: Tradeble and can definitely be traded. No comment on him as everyone knows we need serious upgrade at this position Lampe: Will be traded as a balance in a deal My view: Head, Howard, Lampe and Snyder (maybe) are probaly on the trading block as the management is looking for opportunities of landing an upgrade at the SG and PF position. With what we have, we can only get the upgrade on one position. And the priority is probably the PF spot since Tmac and Battier can both be SG. At the PF spot, we already have 2 backups in Hayes and Novak. We just have one hole to fill guys and we are ready to roll!!!!!!!
I disagree. Before the trade the highest trade-able asset the Rox had was Swift, who was value was sinking. After the trade, we now have Battier, who any team with a need for a three would want. If playing TMac at the 2 (and Battier at the 3) or playing Battier at the 4 (and TMac at the 3) does not work so well, Battier should be dealt for a starting quality 2 or 4.
Lampe is with Phoenix now. Snyder won't be traded because he was just traded here. I believe there is some clause that says he can't get traded until December or so. Juwan and Head are our 2 most valuable assets.
locks on the roster - mcgrady, yao, battier, hayes, novak, mutombo, snyder, john lucas 3, spanoulis. some chance of being traded but only for the same position - alston. large chance of being traded - head because he has value, and howard because his contract is bad and he is not what we need at pf.
I bet a lot of GMs are saying to themselves "If only we had that long, expensive contract of Howard, what a difference maker that would be!!!"
Sura is an expiring contract so he does have trade value. If someone has someone worth 3.5 million dollars and doesnt want him we can trade sura for him and give them cap relief. He is pretty much like an TE.
wouldn't having garnett here just clog up the paint for Yao? I am adamantly opposed to getting anyone who will take stats away from yao!!!!
