I think the Rockets should consider signing Reggie Evans for extra muscle on the boards. I understand that we have about 3.5 million left from our MLE after the signing of VS today. Any thoughts?

I like Evans but I would much rather prefer Wright over him if possible. Besides we got a mini version of Evans in Hayes. :)

Exactly. Those two are virtually identical in size and skill set. While Evans was better as of next year, we need to see what Hayes can do the first part of this season. Besides, a rotationalforward is not as much of a concern as getting a rotational post defender: someone who can play both the four and the five based upon the situation.

Evans will stay in the Association for years but is not the right fit with Yao.

"Reggie Evans would definitely get best actor in the league," Van Gundy said. "I am so sick of watching that guy flop I can't stand it. It is an absolute disgrace what he does. Those two fouls he supposedly drew on Yao (Ming) the other night were a joke — jumping into the front row. The NBA's got to do something about it. He's taken flopping to a new level. And he's too good a player to be jumping around."

    Source: Houston Chronicle

Of course, when he's not flopping - he's grabbing Kaman's goods. Probably violates the "no knuckleheads" policy in JVG's book.

I totally agree with you. Evans is a rebounding machine. would be a very good fit. what does everyone think about getting Cato back?

Dude do you not realize hayes is the second best rebounder per 48 in the entire league. He rebounds at a higher rate than Ben Wallace and Kevin Garnett it would be idiotic to pay some one that kinda money to come in and do something worse than the guy you already have.

Yo the thing to watch out is those per 48 minute stats. If you give the same number of minutes for Hayes and KG to play it would be a totally different situation
