Is anyone here fans of The White Shadow television series? I'm a huge fan of the series and am always looking to talk with other fans of the show. I've created a White Shadow board if anyone is interested in checking it out.

I do like the White Shadow. I love some of the things that they do in that show that could never be done now.

My favorite example of that is where one of the players had a drinking problem. The coach found a flask of tequila in his locker and held a team meeting. One of the players said it was probably water in the bottle. The Coach threw the flask to the player and ordered him to drink a swallow of the tequila.

Imagine a highschool teacher ordering high school students to take a swig of booze. It was hilarious.

Ah yes. Season 1, episode 2 - "Here's Mud in Your Eye"

Yeah, you're right though. That would ever go over now-a-days.

Loved the show when it came out. It was one of the few "must see" shows during my later years of HS.. we always talked about how we'd beat that team and if this is representative of hoops in LA, then we could own that town.

    Never liked "Salami."

But it was set in Chicago I thought. I didn't really like Salami either. I didn't like the kid that looked kind of like Chachi either. But I liked everyone else.

The show took place in a Los Angeles ghetto. I gotta disagree with ya guys. Mario "Salami" Patrino is definately one of the strongest character elements to the show IMO

Back then it wouldn't of been a big deal.

Recently a teacher in Katy got fired for putting scotch tape on a kid's mouth for fun because he wouldn't quit talking. (She later sued and won, I think). But are things these days better or worse?
