It's funny that a thread devoted to housing all the one- and two-star threads has 5 stars itself.

It could be really effective," Banks' agent, Michael Higgins, said. "He really likes D'Antoni. He told me he'd be thrilled just to learn from Steve Nash."

Banks was a backup for 2 1/2 seasons in Boston before being traded last season to Minnesota

Banks' addition would give the Suns 11 players under contract and make the possibility of Eddie House's return doubtful.

This is from NBA.com today (above)

Couldn't we use eddie house off the bench? He seems like he can shoot the 3 ball....???

I don't want a head case like Miles....I heard snyder isn't a boyscout either so I don't think our roster can handle 2 head cases....

yes to #1, think we give up a lil toomuch for the second trade for a guy that got injured last season, and we would have no true PF

It's not inconceivable IF Rox use TE and take DJ (and Rox are willing to overpay DG to the tune of 5/50, at least).

"Synergy" - the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I came up with a trade idea but will save myself and the mods the trouble of having it moved in here and just post directly to this thread. The word out of Denver is that they are trying to move Camby and KMart. I think either would be an upgrade for the Rox, though I would prefer Camby (bonus points for him being a former Van Gundy Knick).

    Trade #1
    Houston trades:
    Juwan Howard
Luther Head or 1st round pick
    2nd round pick

    Denver trades:
    Marcus Camby

Howards contract is smaller but longer than Camby's but they are trying to move him and Head or a 2007 first rounder might be enough to get it done, with the added bonus of a 2007 2nd rounder.

    Trade #2
    Houston trades:
    Juwan Howard
    Bob Sura

    Denver trades:
    Kenyon Martin

In this situation the trade is a pure salary dump for Denver. Martin's contract is bigger than Howard's and Sura's combined and runs for 5 more seasons while Sura's is done in 2 seasons and Howard's is done in 3. The upside for Houston is that K-Mart is actually a viable power forward. He has never lived up to his status as a #1 overall pick nor will he likely play up to his contract. On the other hand, when given time he has shown the ability to be a 17-10 player (technically 16.7 ppg and 9.5 rpg in 03-04) and he is sort of a defensive presence averaging more than a block and a steal per game for his career. The contracts of Yao and McGrady are such that we are not going to have the cap space to sign any free agents in the forseeable future (we have 21 million outside of those two under the cap to fill out our roster, so having a competent player eating up our cap space isn't gooin to hurt us too badly. Martin has the intensity and aggresiveness that everyone wants next to Yao and as a 3rd or 4th option we can hide his shortcomings and he can focus on defense and rebounding.

Don't bash me too much. I just wanted to find a way to get Kurt Thomas on this team so here it is

    Houston-Outgoing
    J. Howard
    L. Head
    R. Bowen

    Houston-Incoming
    K. Thomas
    V. Kryapa

    Chicago-Outgoing
    E.Badsen
    V.Kryapa
    M.Sweetney
    M. Allen

    Chicago-Incoming
    J. Howard
    P. Burke
    Pheniox 2008 1st round pick

    Pheniox-Outgoing
    K. Thomas
    P. Burke
    Pheniox 2008 1st round pick

    Pheniox-Incoming
    E. Badsen
    L. Head
    M. Allen
    M. Sweetney
    R. Bowen

Why for Hou-We get a starting PF and we obviously lose Head but we get Kryapa

Why for Chi-They get a nice backup power forward along with more upfront depth.

Why for Phx-They save money and add depth while at it

    Lineup
    pg-alston-vspan-lucas
    sg-battier-snyder-sura
    sf-tmac-ariza(with rest of mle)-novak
    pf-thomas-hayes-wright (with our TE)
    c-yao-wright-mutumbo

It's not the greatest trade but what do you think.....

I'm so sick of everyone saying to trade luther head, did you guys not watch him this season? Head isgoing to be a star, maybe nota superstar but a star. He is a confident player and proved to be clutch, even as a rookie. The skys the limit for him.
