As much as I like Barkley, we should never have traded for him

SamCassell, I remember that it seemed like they would show him everyday on sportscenter with Calipari but in other cities I don't think he tried to make trouble or anything like that. The rumor that comes from the rocket insiders is that he did not play his role on offense in the post offense during the glory days leaving some players unhappy with him. Namely Hakeem Olajuwon and I have even heard Rudy. It was probably because he was not as mature than as he is now and would be more able to play withing his role in the offense now. I think the guy is a good guy and wouldn't mind having him back. Also just thinking back on what I said I did not mean that the guy is overrated as a player just overrated in the eyes of many Houston fans. Great player but some people you talk to act as if he was the second coming of Isah Thomas or something.

No not the second coming of Zeke. Sam doesn't have the defensive ability, the court vision, the scoring ability, or the speed of a guy like Thomas. But to me overrated in terms of PGs are guys like Marbury. Sammy at his peak (which is now) is a very solid PG, maybe even the best '1' in the East. The enthusiasm and clutch shooting which he has always brought to the game have been tempered over time with maturity and the ability to set up his teammates, instead of trying to score the ball all the time. And his faults (at times, lack of defense) are nothing we haven't experienced with every other PG we've had in the 90s.

I would trade 10 sam cassel, robert horry, mark bryant and chucky brown for one Charles Barkley, as none of them are as dominant as Charles Barkley. Charles Barkley is an creator and executor, he is an leader while those role players except for Sam Cassel can only do well following behind team leaders.
You arguement of the pf that Horry can bring for us is pathetic,it's like saying a pf like Othella Harrington is better than Charles Barkley. You overestimated Horry's trade value, he was a solid role player and he can only bring someone of equivalent value to the team. Horry sucked after he left houston, played only 30 some games before being traded by the suns, his game at sf in Suns was a joke period. Chucky Brown can't bang in the paint as someone claimed as well, his rebounding is like a Shooting guards, 3 rebounds in 20 plus minutes for a sf is so so if not bad, Shandon Anderson can do better than him.

You implied that we don't have chemistry with
Charles Barkley, whereas the common sense is that you must have certain chemistry to advance into the conference finals.

The Rockets were being swept by the Sonics and they needed improvement period, if those damn role players are that good we wouldn't be swept, that season was not a fluke, I am not sure about Drexler's injury, but he only missed 19 games that season, but Cassel's injury has no damn business with being swept, Cassel played well in the playoff that year, his played the last 8 games of the season if I remembered correctly.

Don't you guys blame Barkley for the Rockets not beating the Jazzholes, the Jazz are much more better than the Sonics, they went to the finals twice in a row, and Sonics fell to the Bulls in 6 games but the Jazz pushed the Bulls to 7 games. Plus the way we are defending pick-and-roll is pathetic, we got burned numerous times by thier pick and roll in the crunch time, that has to do with Rudy T. Besides, Hakeem are not half the player he was in his prime these year. Despite, we were having a good fight with the Jazz these years, we won about 1-3 in the last regular season while we beat the Portland 2-3, who beat the Jazzholes in the playoff, so we are still very competitive, if Hakeem can do his job handling Shag like Robinson did we have very good chance pass the first round last year.

    Whatever......
