Reports say V-span has come to terms with the rockets, cheap terms at that just under 2 mil per season. That leaves us with with around 3.5 million to sign whoever floats our boat and a sizable Te to lure someone in. With Howard still here and likely to play back-up to Battier at the Power Foward that really is not a position of need. The Point Guard posistion is also filled with the likely hood that JL3 will come in. So that leaves the Backup center, Backup small forward, and Backup 2 guard. Now im all for killing to birds with one stone so i would like a 2/3 and a backup center. Here is the list of potential suitors. What do yall think? Trevor Ariza (my pick i love his potential and athleticism) Eddie House Melvin Ely Fred Jones Reggie Evans Jumaine Jones Lorezen Wright (my pick) DeMarr Johnson Jarred Jeffries Deshawn Stevenson (2nd pick)
I like Trevor Ariza as well. I think he could develop nicely. But I would like to see someone that has developed a little more already. Do any of these guys fit that bill?
The back up SF is set with T-Mac, Battier and Novak. I agree with you that we will need size and/or enforcer at PF. That probably will be they go after next. IMO, back up C will be least important this year.
I'd like to sign Lorenzen Wright to a deal at 3 years, 10.5mil(remaining 3.5 per, no raise in salary). He'll be of good use here.
Mr Wallace: What's next? I'll tell you what next I'm gonna call some hard pipe hitting _igga$ to go to work on homeboy here with blow torch and a pair of pliers. That's what next! You here me talking hillbilly boy. I'm not through with you by a damn sight: I'm gonna get mideval on your buttocks. Sorry man your question gave me a Pulp Fiction flash back and I'm sleep deprived today.
wright without a doubt, i dont think he'll come that cheap tho, we could run that rotation with yao and wright at the 4 n 5 like we did with yao n cato, it worked out pretty good for us, if we get wright we could go big and/or small big: yao wright battier mcgrady alston small : yao battier mcgrady head/or other sg alston
No Stevenson cant he wants more than the rockets have but as no one will offer him that the rockets could get him for the rest of the mle but i prefer Ariza. We could prolly add Wright with the Te Memphis doesnt want him.
We are set Luther backs up the 2 guard......and Span and JL3 back up Alston.... We don't need anymore pieces...we are ready for our run. DD
i'd like to see the rox split the remaining part of the MLE beetween Ely and Ariza, then get Korver from the Sixers with our TE + a 2nd round pick and cash ... but i'm pretty sure it wont happen
The Master Plan is coming together. Remember what JVG said a few ago during the ticketholder chat session. "We need a range shooting PF (Battier), shooters, shooters, shooters (Battier, Novak, JL3), size and athleticism at the 2 (Snyder), 3 PGs (Rafer, VSpan, JL3) and a backup center (who???)." Patience - my fellow BBSers. This management, while not always successful, always puts forth the effort to improve the team. It seems we're reloading very nicely.
Unless we do some moves or Sura retires, we don't have a roster spot for 2 more players (assuming #1 Novak signs and #2 JLIII comes on board).
What we need to do next is to sign LWright with the MLE left PG: Alston/V-Span/JLIII SG: Snyder/Head/Sura SF: T-Mac/Novak/Bowen PF: Battier/Howard/Hayes C: Yao/Wright/Mutomubo Looks great!
This could have went into one of the other 10 threads talking about this, IMO. Try this for example, http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=115592
Someone said that we could split the mle between Ariza and Ely that is not do able it will take the rest of the Mle to lour Ariza from orlando. But then that still leaves the Te to get Wright.
