First to the person who characterized JLIII as "slow" at best:

Now as far as his chances of becoming a Rocket:

    - He grew up as a ballboy for the Rockets.
    - He actually always wanted to shoot with the players during shootaround and used to practice before they made him get off the court.
    - His childhood dream is to play in Rocket Red.
    - His first NBA opportunity came from the Rockets.
    - His dad has credited JVG with helping him mature and develop a great deal. This ostensibly was a direct result of his 10-day stint with the team.
    - The only NBA coaches he has ever played for are Thibodeau and JVG.
    - Quoth the man himself: "I would love to play for the Rockets. I love playing for Coach Van Gundy, but they have to make a decision that's best for them."

Obviously we've got to deal with his agent and negotiate salary, but the bottom line is if we want JLIII we're getting him. There's no question that Houston is his first choice by far. If he goes somewhere else, it will be because the Rockets let him go. I know everyone is still seething over Mike James, but this isn't Mike James.

This article isn't dated, but sounds like it was written before Lucas received offer from Suns. James wanted to play for Rockets too, but the Timberwolves offered him what he wanted. I hope the Rockets offer Lucas more than the Suns instead of banking on his emotional attachment to the franchise.

Only time will tell whether you get kudos or raspberries.

Like a number of others on the board who hope you are right, I am more than ready to pass out some kudos. Unfortunately, the Mike James fiasco makes the board cautious.

Why do people keep saying that it'd be smart for Lucas to go to Phoenix to play under Nash? I'm not blind to the fact that Phoenix is an attractive option for any point guard. D'Antoni's gimmick offense made a pretty good PG from Dallas into an MVP. And being 5'10" isn't a disadvantage if you're not expected to play defense at all. But JL3's dad is John frickin' Lucas. The man who teaches the best point guards in the world. I can promise you there is NOTHING that Nash could teach Lucas that his dad didn't already write the book on. It'd be like me teaching the Buffet kids how to invest.

Perhaps he did. Maybe you didn't. Who knows? Einstein presented facts. You did not. Agree or disagree, but, unless you favor authoritarian rule, everybody deserves an opinion regardless of its quality.

I think we need to sign Banks first if JL3 wont accept the minimum, but our depth would be absolutley insane if we got Banks, Lucas, and Lorezen Wright/Melvin Ely.

I like John Lucas's energy and quickness...He is a good depth player off the bench considering how he has improved in the summer leagues...I hope we don't lose him

Your an Idiot. No one can even debate you if your that stupid. Comparing Yao and Tracey to Eddy Curry and Marbury you should be arrested for your utter stupidity. Obviously you know nothing because why would any one want to go play for a team(the knicks) that only get laughed at everynight over a team that will make the some noise in the Playoffs(the rox). And why in the world would he want to leave his home to get the exact same contract.

This guy is a Fraud and should be banned i mean come on he just said the Rox were worse than the knicks.

I don't know that calling Houston a "black hole" and saying that we'll probably end up with a similar record to New York's qualify as "facts".

No need to be rude! Everyone has an opinion and one is hopefully allowed to express their opinion on this forum, without being told to shut up.

I was referring to the "Coach of the Year" fact. The rest was opinion, which, despite our mutual (and majority) disagreement, is Einstein's right to voice.

I do agree with thumbs actually. As idiotic as that comment might be, he does have the right to say it (calls to ban him are out of hand).

He also does have the right to get flamed for it, however. ;)

Okay this is the last bashing but yea i think he should be banned. He has obviously done something wrong already, to have been a person at this board for so long and to have made that many post he should already be a Member not just a ROOK.
