did anybody see Sabu vs Rey Mysterio Jr? holy ****. i dont know if that thing was botched, but it looked bad the first time.
I wished they didn't end the Sabu-Rey match the way they did, especially since it was a pretty good match. In fact, both title fights had crappy endings IMO. But overall, I really liked the PPV. It was a nice start to bringing back ECW, and hopefully we won't see more of these endings as Paul starts getting more control.
man, ever since JBL lost his title reign and basically been reduced to wrestling mid-carders, his b**** t*** and gut have become more prominent. his love handles are expanding quite a bit too.
When ECW were going bankrupt WWE stepped in and purchased the rights to the name and all footage. Last year WWE had a ONS pay per view to test the waters and it was very successful with the fans hence the WWE deciding to bring ECW back full time starting Tuesday night. Was a great ppv yet the ending just didn't sit right with myself. The DDT on Rey was brutal and he was very lucky not to be seriously injured. Funk is still a nut case and Foley proved he still had it. The highlight for me was seeing Tajiri back in the ring and being given time to show what he can do. Overall a good pay per view, most probably the best the WWE have come out with in the last 12-18 months.
I thought it was a typical WWE PPV with a few hardcore matches thrown in. It seems like they went out of their way to involve the tables, ladders and chairs. It got boring halfway through it. Did the matches on ECW make ECW or did the fans' chants make it? The first ECW thing I saw was the One Night Stand last year so I don't know if the fans were always this way or if it was something that just became cool.
Note: ECW will be having live events in Texas on the following dates: July 16 – Huntsville, Texas – Sam Houston Coliseum July 17 – Austin, Texas – Palmer Event Center July 18 – Corpus Christi, Texas – American Bank Center
Yeah that was pretty horrible. Apparently despite early rumors Heyman is not head booker. He has to get approval on everything from Vince. And, since he has "sports entertainment rulezzz!!" on the brain (and since Stephanie hates Heyman's guts) Heyman got hosed. From what I've read the final product was NOTHING like what Heyman wanted to put on TV. And now one of Steph's yes-men (Dave Lagana) is getting pulled from Smackdown to "help" write for ECW. That'll help. Let Heyman write and book ECW, Steph sticks to screwing up RAW and Smackdown, and Vince just writes the checks. My perfect wrestling world. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
I'm thinking that they purposefully made that first ECW show on Sci-Fi really crappy. It was almost like a parody of the WWE itself...
No way they make it crappy on purpose. What it all boils down to is that as much as anyone would like ECW to be ECW, it is truly just another brand under the WWE name. Unfortunate but true. At least TNA's an alternative and I'll be watching Slammiversary this Sunday night...whatever one may think of their shows on Spike, they have always delivered on their PPVs.
Wish I could afford TNA PPVs but seeing as how I'm employment deficient I've got to save every penny to pay bills. Samoa Joe's currently my favorite wrestler in any organization and I'm interested to see how Kevin Nash (w/ Alex Shelley) meshes with Chris Sabin.
So Sabu and Rob Van Dam were caught speeding and having mar1juana and painkillers on them. So much for RVD's push he just shot his career to hell. ECW is more WWE than ever now. On a side note I'll be watching an ECW house show tomorrow night in Huntsville.
