Like I said. In that case I'd probably prefer Luther on the floor who can actually shoot.

I'm impressed with this move if he was brought in to replace Bogans as a backup SF/SG.

However (and based on CD's comments seems this is the case) if he was brought in to be the starting SG, I'm NOT impressed.

Even less so if they did that then they STILL left Novak and Bowen as the backup SF and only thin if T-Mac gets hurt again.

In other words if they are still bringing in a starting SG this is a great move, if not just another pathetic sell job.

It doesn't have anything to do with that. Most of the board doesn't give a rip if he's a choir boy or not. It's the JVG factor that scares a lot of people. Much of the time Snyder plays out of control and plays like a "knucklehead". So how's that going to mesh with Van Gundy. If Snyder makes some boneheaded plays, is JVG going to give him the Stro treatment and sit him on the bench until he can unload him to another team or just cut him from the roster. That's the question.

Pretty much everyone agrees that this is a low-cost trade. We get an athletic player with skills and offensive potential for next to nothing. But if he can't get along with JVG, then the trade will turn out to be worth nothing, which would be a shame considering how badly we need some good moves right now.

John Lucas III. Son of former Rocket, John Lucas. He played a couple of 10 day contracts for us last year, and has played extremely well for our summer league team so far.

It's only one clip but damn can that boy eleuhhvate!!! A facial on the lake show got to love it! Havent seen any of our 'boys' do anything close to that outside of T-Mac's unbe-e-e-e-liveable punk job on Shawn " if only I could jump" Bradley in game 2 2005 round 1 with the punk ponies. I say 'rock on' with this deal ! Maybe our brass does have a few brain cells afterall. :D

actually he played power forward last year a little bit in lineups that included both eddie jones and mike miller, with gasol at center. He was considered sort of a tweener when he came into the league, so its not that much of a stretch. He'll probably have a hard time with stronger power forwards though like tim duncan, but so will everyone else on the roster.

Dude, John Lucas III ! Oklahoma State graduate in 2005. Made a big time money shot to oust St Joseph from the NCAA tourney.

His pop is like an icon in this town! If John Lucas II does not test positive in 86 for cocaine guess what? Bird or no Bird, the Rox would have punk'd the Celts despite Ralph Sampson's best 'choke job' efforts.

So, hasn't it been said that JVG has little say in the player choices? Supporters tend to believe that, while doubters say it isnt true. This move seems to support one of those theories.

In any case, you guys wanted someone with a mean streak, I guess we got that.

It's a great move especially that the Rockets give up nothing to get him. He's big, atheletic, built like a beast, he can help. I wouldn't count on him to put the rockets over the top however, but a good addition nonetheless. I look at it as a swap for Bogans, except Snyder has more talent, and bigger physcially.

Even if he bombs out here, it was still worth it because of the photo Clutch put on the front page. That is priceless.

JVG, Sura, and Bowen will be at the airport to welcome Snyder with bars of soap wrapped in towels. Gomer style.

    per nba.com

    Kirk Snyder career .355 3pt%

    Vernon Maxwell career .320 3pt%

If he keeps his head on straight this guy can start at the 2 for us this season.

One down, 2 more good role players to go. :D
