i like the move. guy brings some much needed balls/attitude/toughness to the team. great pickup. should be a very good 6th man for us
there's nothing to not like about this move since we basically got him for free. on that note this is a great pick-up and hopefully van gundy can get his ass in line and focus that intensity in a positive way. if he can't then we don't lose anything anyways...beautiful.
I agree and just wait for all the ranting and raveing coming when he waves off or ignores T-MAC or YAO and takes and misses with an air ball or a clank off the top of backboard Maybe we should wait awhile before we say how good of a move this is?
Even though Snyder may have some attitude problems, I like the fact that this is a low-risk move. We gave up almost nothing at all, so if he doesn't work out for us, it's not something to lose sleep over.
Good move and good to see some optimism instead of the usual boo-hoo the Rockets didn't do what I wanted them to do. I see Synder as a Raja Bell type coming off the bench, get him in open places and he'll finish for you. I'm sure Van Gundy won't have any problems with someone helping the team to win, hopefully his athletism will translate into good D.
Just found this quote from Byron Scott on Snyder... proably why we got him so cheap. "His whole game right now has not got better, and that's disappointing," Scott said. "I think he's selfish, everything he's doing is trying to score. You got guys open on the post, and he won't throw the ball. You still work on playing with your teammates," Scott said. "That's just basketball. I don't care if it's summer league or preseason. He has to have the same attitude that he had last year." This situation sounds eerily similar to the Smith-Scott feud last season, and with Peja Stojakovic and Bobby Jackson around, we may not see much of Snyder at all this year. " Should be interesting to see how he and Van Gundy get along...
Yes this guy made a dumb move against the Rox, but he was 21 at the time and got benched by his coach and hopefully learned something. Besides, Sura has done things in the past that Im sure have pissed other teams off and we all love him for that since he is on the Rox. This is a great trade. They give up nothing to get him and can now have three guys 6'6 to 6'8 who can all shoot the three, with our dominant skilled center, and a pass first PG on the floor at once. The Rox will be causing all sorts of problems for the West next year. I think we need to give some slack to the front office. I know a bunch of people still hate the trade for battier but I like it. Our goals this offseason were to add solid role players (battier), length and athleticism at the 2 (snyder), shooting (novak and battier) and another PG and PF. Hopefully JL3 will be signed and be able to contribute, same as VSPAN and we still have the TE and MLE to work on a PF. Then just imagine if we can have a relatively healthy year for Yao, Tmac and Sura. A lot to wish for, but just imagine it.
i like this move...though his a little knuckleheaded hes a tough guy that you want on your team...i think jvg might be able to tinker with his attitude here and there, but i dont see a huge change in his game
No one thought jvg could handle sprewell but jvg learned to work with him cause he knew if he did not get past the second round that year in 1999 we would have gotten fired. Now jvg is in the same situation again if he does not show good progress this year he is gone. So if history repeats it self jvg should be able to make it work with Snyder.
Haven't followed him much. Is there anything besides the incident with the Rockets' bench to indicate he has some sort of attitude problem? I'll categorize not passing to teammates as a separate problem. Anyway, what's not to like? We got him for free. If he becomes any trouble, you can just cut him.
